5th Annual Widmer Brothers Oktoberfest
When: 3:00PM September 12th, 2009

Admission: Free
What to expect: The Widmer Brothers put on a block party to celebrate Oktoberfest that draws thousands of beer-lovers each year. A variety of Widmer brews are available for the tasting (you'll need a Souvenir Mug in order to sample), along with traditional eats like pretzels and brats.

Zenner's Oktoberfest at OaksPark
When: 3:00 PM to Midnight September 25th, 11:00 AM to Midnight September 26th, 11:00 AM to 7:00 PM September 27th
Where: 7805 SE Oaks Park Way; Portland, OR 97202
Admission: $5.00 at the gate
What to expect: Enjoy a bevy of authentic German food and beer brought in by Zenner's Sausage and Paulaner Beer, live music, and try your hand at one of many contests and games. Have someone in your family that isn't into sausage and Oompah bands? They'll still have plenty to do between the amusement park rides and skating rink.

Mt.Angel Oktoberfest
When: September 17th and 18th from 8:30 AM to Midnight, September 19th & 20th from 7:00 AM to Midnight
Where: 5 N. Garfield St., Mt. Angel, OR 97362 (45 minutes south of Portland)
Admission: All Festival Pass is $20, day passes range from $2 - $12 depending on the day and available events.
What to expect: Four days filled with events celebrating all things Bavarian. From food from various vendors, a true Biergarten and Weingarten, museum, car show, Polka and Yodelers, it is an event that the die-hard Oktoberfan won't want to miss. If you plan on staying through the entire event, book your lodging early as rooms are limited.

Don't forget: Regardless of when, where or how you celebrate Oktoberfest this year, always make sure that you have a Designated Driver with your group and a backup plan just in case your Designated Driver slips a drink.
