2009 Oscar Winners List and Highlights of the 81st Academy Awards: "Slumdog Millionaire" Wins Big with Eight Oscars
Among this year's highlight wins were Heath Ledger who won best performance by an actor in a supporting role for his role as the Joker in "The Dark Knight." The award was posthumous for Ledger who died in January 2008 before "The Dark Knight" was released. Another highlight was when Sean Penn won performance by an actor in a leading role for his role in "Milk." Other highlights were Kate Winslet who won her first Oscar for best performance by an actress in a leading role in "The Reader" and Penelope Cruz who won supporting Oscar for her role in "Vicky Cristina Barcelona."
"Slumdog Millionaire" won Best Motion Picture of the Year. The movie came out on top during the 2009 Academy Awards taking away eight Oscars of its ten Academy Award nominations. "The Curious Case of Benjamin Button" took away three Oscars of its 13 Academy Award nominations.
A nice touch to this year's Oscars were the nice comments presenter gave to each of the nominees during their award category.
Among the other highlights moments of Oscar night: many took note when Jennifer Aniston appeared as a presenter during the awards show because her ex-husband Brad Pitt and his girlfriend Angelina Jolie were sitting up front during the ceremony. Oscar show producers were sure to cut to Pitt and Jolie, Bradgelina, while Aniston was on stage. Both Pitt and Jolie were nominated for Oscars.
Ben Stiller gave a hilarious presentation performance during the presentation of the cinematography award. And Beyonce Knowles was featured in medley performance honoring classic musicals. She wore a fiery red dazzling costume and top hat.

Great article!
All you got to do to win eight oscars is provide a decent story with an informative theme such as Slumdog's perspective on a different culture. The most entertaining film (i.e. movie you'll watch the most in your lifetime) never wins. What a joke.
Thanks for the coverage. I didn't get to watch - well, only the last five minutes.
Great report
