2009 People's Choice Awards

And the Nominees Are:

Ronni Dee
The People's Choice Awards are here again! Here are some of the top categories and their nominees! For some categories I have input my predictions, if there is not prediction it is because I either did not see the movie/show or am otherwise unfamiliar with the category.

Favorite Movie: The Dark Knight, Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, Iron man

I am going to predict The Dark Knight. Although I do think it will be a close race against the newest Indiana Jones movie, I think The Dark Knight will take home to prize for Favorite Movie due to the untimely passing of Heath Ledger.

Favorite Comedy Movie: 27 Dresses, Get Smart, Mamma Mia!

Favorite Movie Drama: 21, Eagle Eye, The Secret Life of Bees

I am going to predict Eagle Eye. Now I would choose 21, but with Eagle Eye not being out as long, I do believe it will have a better chance of winning.

Favorite Independent Movie: The Duchess, Miss Pettigrew Lives for a Day, The Secret Life of Bees

Favorite Action Movie: The Dark Knight, Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, Iron man

I am predicting The Dark Knight in this category as well. Again, I think it would be the new Indian Jones film, especially with the generations that have seen the prior movies in the series. I do, however, believe that The Dark Knight will take the win.

Favorite Cast: The Dark Knight, Mamma Mia!, Sex and the City

Favorite On Screen Matchup: Christian Bale & Health Ledger (The Dark Knight), Shia LaBeouf & Harrison Ford (Indiana Jones), Tina Fey & Amy Poehler (Baby Mama)

Favorite Male Movie Star: Harrison Ford, Robert Downey Jr., Will Smith

Go Will Smith! This man is incredible!

Favorite Female Movie Star: Angelina Jolie, Keira Knightley, Reese Witherspoon

I am going to go right ahead an say the winner will be Angelina Jolie. Face it people, she is always in the news, even if she doesn't have a new movie out. She did have some great releases this year, though. My favorite was Wanted. Although, I think I like Reese Witherspoon a tad bit more.

Favorite Male Action Star: Christian Bale, Robert Downey Jr., Will Smith

Go Will Go!! Will Smith has some of the best on screen work ever!

Favorite Female Action Star: Angelina Jolie, Anna Hathaway, Cate Blancheet

Angelina Jolie again, for the same reasons as stated above. Although, in this category, I would agree.

Favorite Leading Man: Brad Pitt, Christian Bale, Mark Wahlberg

Favorite Leading Lady: Anne Hathaway, Kate Hudson, Queen Latifah

Favorite Superhero: Christian Bale, Robert Downey Jr., Will Smith

Favorite TV Drama: CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, Grey's Anatomy, House

That is a hard one. CSI vs House. I'll go with CSI, but I love House, too.

Favorite TV Comedy: Samantha Who?, Two and a Half Men, Ugly Betty

Favorite New TV Drama: 90210, Fringe, The Mentalist

I hardly think 90210 should be categorized under 'new', unless I am missing something.

Favorite New TV Comedy: Heroes, Supernatural, Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles

Favorite Animated Comedy: Family Guy, The Simpsons, South Park

Favorite Sci Fi/Fantasy Show: Gary Unmarried, Kath & Kim, Worst Week

Favorite Competition/Reality Show: American Idol, Dancing with the Stars, Extreme Makeover: Home Edition

Favorite Game Show: Are you Smarter than a 5th Grader?, Deal or No Deal, Jeopardy

Favorite Male TV Star: Charlie Sheen, Hugh Laurie, Patrick Dempsey

Favorite Female TV Star: Christina Applegate, Mariska Hargitay, Sally Field

I would choose Mariska Hargitay here. She is phenomenal. I do, however, think she has stiff competition. Christina Applegate received a lot of new time with her fight with breast cancer. Considering she was publicized more often this year, it may help her chances here. (Congrats on beating cancer Christina!!)

Favorite Talk Show Host: David Letterman, Ellen DeGeneres, Regis Philbin & Kelly Ripa

Favorite Scene Stealing Guest Star: Britney Spears (How I Met Your Mother), Luke Perry (Law & Order: SVU), Robin Williams (Law & Order: SVU)

The episode with Luke Perry was wonderful! I did not, however, see the other two, therefore no prediction.
