2009 Razzie Awards Includes Special Worst Movie of the Decade Category

The nominations for the 2009 Razzie Awards are in, and there are some very interesting new categories added to the roster this year: 2009 Razzie Awards for the worst actor, actress, and movie of the decade. Another interesting development for the 2009 Razzie Awards is the nomination of Sandra Bullock for 'All About Steve', because the actress has a very good chance at scoring a movie award first by winning both a Razzie and an Oscar in the same year (her Oscar nomination and win would likely be for 'The Blind Side', another movie role she went blonde for). So maybe Sandra Bullock had this unprecedented worst and best win planned all along, trying to show us just how versatile she is? I don't know, but the other most interesting Razzie Award categories, the new worst movie, worst actor, and worst actress of the decade awards, are shaping up to be interesting races as well.

It's funny that Jennifer Lopez was recently complaining to Latina magazine that she felt her acting in 'El Cantante' was Oscar worthy, because she's up for the 2009 Razzie for the worst actress of the decade, having been nominated a whopping nine times for worst actress Razzie Awards. Jennifer Lopez won two Razzie Awards for one of the movies up for worst movie of the decade, 'Gigli': one award for worst actress and another for worst screen couple. Ex Ben Affleck shares her worst of the decade honor as the other half of the 'Gigli' couple, also winning in the actor category (he's also, coincidentally, been nominated 9 times, as well, and the couple shared nominations for another terrible movie they starred in together, 'Jersey Girl').

Other nominees in the 2009 Razzie Award for worst actress of the decade category are Mariah Carey, who snagged a spot for starring in only one extremely bad movie in 'Glitter', Paris Hilton, Lindsay Lohan, and another female musician/actress that also felt she should have won an Oscar, Madonna.

Other nominees in the 2009 Razzie Award for worst actor category are Eddie Murphy, Mike Meyers, Rob Schneider, and John Travolta, who won the worst actor Razzie award for another of the movies up for the 2009 Razzie award for the worst movie of the decade, 'Battlefield Earth'.

And the movies up for worst of the decade besides 'Battlefield Earth' and 'Gigli' are Tom Green's ''Freddy Got Fingered', Lindsay Lohan's 'I Know Who Killed Me', and director Guy Ritchie's 'Swept Away', in which ex Madonna stars.

So what movie, actor, and actress will win the 2009 Razzie awards for the worst of the decade? I'm betting on a 'Gigli' sweep (it has to at least have worst movie of the decade locked), with Eddie Murphy and Lindsay Lohan being the best chance of upsets in the actor and actress categories. But be sure to tune in the night before the Oscars to find out which worst movies and the stars in them left the decade behind on the sourest notes.
