SEC East
Florida Gators
Percy Harvin is gone but the Florida Gators bring back everybody significant. Meanwhile the second best team in the SEC East lost their starting quarterback and running back. If the Florida Gators don't win the SEC East then it will be one of the biggest disappointments in some time.
Georgia Bulldogs
The Georgia Bulldogs lost Matthew Stafford and Knowshon Moreno but who else is going to challenge them for second in the SEC East. Even a new, inexperienced Georgia Bulldogs team is better than the rest of the division.
South Carolina Gamecocks
Every year South Carolina is picked as a sleeper in the SEC East thanks to Steve Spurrier. So far it hasn't happened. Steve Spurrier at South Carolina hasn't worked and it won't work this season.
Vanderbilt Commodores
Vanderbilt went .500 in the SEC in 2008 and had a winning record overall. The Commodores still aren't good but neither are Tennessee and Kentucky.
Tennessee Volunteers
Tennessee is a mess. Kiffin is running his mouth. The Volunteers are riddled with injuries. They aren't even that good to begin with. Is it possible for a coach to be fired after one season?
Kentucky Wildcats
Vanderbilt has been the whipping boy in the SEC for long enough. It is time for Kentucky to be the easy win in the SEC East.
SEC West
Ole Miss Rebels
Alabama is the favorite to win the SEC West but Ole Miss is the only team in the SEC with a great quarterback not named Tebow. Last season Ole Miss defeated Florida and Texas Tech. In 2009 Ole Miss plays Alabama and LSU at home.
Alabama Crimson Tide
Alabama will be very good again in 2009 but they have lost their best offensive lineman and their starting quarterback. John Parker Wilson wasn't an All-American caliber quarterback but the experience of a four year starter will be missed.
LSU Tigers
When Nick Saban took over the LSU program the Tigers became the best program in the SEC. LSU is now finally losing the title to Florida and Alabama but they'll be back.
Arkansas Razorbacks
Arkansas has some talent but the program is often inconsistent. Sometimes Arkansas looks like a 8 - 4 team and sometimes they look like a 4 - 8 team.
Auburn Tigers
If I was ranking the SEC team by how exciting their offense is then Auburn would rank 83rd out of 12 teams. Auburn just doesn't have the offensive players to do much in 2009.
Mississippi State Bulldogs
The Bulldogs are so bad that I would consider trading them to the Pac-10 for one of the Washington teams.
