Parties are always popular events at the SXSW Music and Media Conference. The Interactive Festival has its own unique parties and lounges as part of the SXSW fun. The Interactive Parties and Lounges segment of the SXSW Conference will run from Friday, March 13 to 17.

RSVPs and other information is, appropriately, being relayed via such social media utilities as Facebook and Twitter.

One of the events occurring on Friday, March 13, is The Mix at Six party hosted by Social Media Group. The party is being held at the Six Lounge and The Tap Room located at 117 West 4th Street, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Social Media Group is an agency that works with businesses in utilizing a socially-active web.

Several parties and lounges of interest on Saturday, March 14, include the PBS Interactive Social Media & Online Video Studio, the Mobile Social SXSW BBQ, and the Razorfish-hosted SXSW Interactive Opening Happy Hour. Those wishing to attend both the PBS and Happy Hour events will have to split their time between the two as both occur at the same time, and are on opposite ends of downtown. The BBQ, however, ends before both start, so party-goers can get energized with BBQ and beer before scrambling to make it to the other events.

BBQ: 4 - 6 p.m., Brush Square Park (West Tent)

PBS: 6-8 p.m, PBS Studio at 406 East 6th Street

Happy Hour: 6-8 p.m., The Madison at 307 West 5th Street

Sunday, March 15, is the date of the SXSW Web Awards Pre-Party. It will be held from 6 - 7 p.m. in the 6th Floor Foyer of the Downtown Hilton Hotel located at 500 East 4th Street. This event offers free food and drink for attendees, and is a prelude to the big Adobe 12th Annual SXSW Web Awards Ceremony. The Awards Ceremony will begin at 7 p.m. and will run until 9 p.m. The event is also being held on the 6th floor of the Downtown Hilton Hotel.

SXSW Badge Holders can get in free to the Plutopia 2009: Living Systems Interactive Event on Monday, March 16th. Others will be charged a $10 admission fee. This event features three stages loaded with five bands and more than 80 artists combining their talent. This event runs from 6 p.m. until midnight and will be held at the Palmer Events Center located at 900 Barton Springs Road.'

The final night of the SXSW parties and lounges, Tuesday, March 17th, will feature a Closing party hosted by Media Temple and a BritBash. The closing party will be held at La Zona Rosa, which is located at 612 West 4th Street. This party will run form 7 p.m. until 1 a.m.

Party Hoppers will also be able to swing over to The British Music Embassy @ Latitude 30 for the BritBash. This event will run from 8 p.m. through midnight. The street address is 512 San Jacinto. Tickets are required and will be available for purchase at the UKT&I stand at the interactive trade show.

Many other parties and lounges will be happening besides those listed above. Check the SXSW website for the latest information on all parties, lounges and events. Create your own SXSW event calendar in order to keep track of everything you want to attend.
