As the show began, we saw a dark stage with Madonna dressed in black, her blonde hair down, and she was serious. She began talking about her connection with Michael Jackson, how they became friends, and how they drifted apart. She spoke of how he was both a human being and a King, how there will never be another talented person like him.
To continue, Janet Jackson came out dressed in typical Michael Jackson attire and, along with other dancers, performed to several of his songs. It was a great tribute! The speech and performance was heartfelt and brought tears to some eyes.
The mood changed as Katy Perry sang "We Will Rock You" to introduce Russell Brand, the host for tonight. The awards were about to begin.
The first up tonight was Best Female Video. This was presented by Shakira and Taylor Lautner. Shakira wore a short, strapless and flashy, gray and black dress. Taylor Lautner wore a nice dark gray suit. The moonman award went to Taylor Swift. Taylor, dressed in a long white, sequined, one shoulder dress began her acceptance speech on stage. Then a rude Kanye West appeared on the stage, took the microphone away from Taylor Swift and told everyone that Beyonce had one of the best videos of all time. As the camera showed Beyonce, she looked shocked! Kanye walked off, returned to his seat, and the audience began booing loudly. He flipped them off (though the TV didn't show that part). The reports say he was asked to leave Radio City Music Hall. Anyway, after that the TV immediately cut to an Eminem skit.
I can't believe Kanye could be so mean! Well, then again, he does have a past of ruining awards shows. I feel bad for him ruining Taylor Swift's "moment"! She's so sweet and deserved the moonman! From Twitter and other media talk, Swift and her mom were backstage crying. Russell Brand came back out after the commercials and reiterated that the show was about love and Michael Jackson. For the duration of the show, small antics were made by presenters congratulating Taylor on her win.
A few minutes after this whole fiasco with Kayne, Taylor Swift was to perform. She was in the subway, dressed in a beautiful, short red dress, singing "You Belong With Me." (That part was pre-recorded.) Her live performance ended with her singing on top of a NYC cab out front of Radio City Music Hall, surrounded by hundreds of fans.
Towards the end of the show, Beyonce gave Taylor Swift her moment back. Beyonce was awarded a moonman for Best Video of the Year. Beyonce, in a short, bright red, plunging neck dress, told the audience during her acceptance speech that she remembered how it felt winning her first VMA award when she was 17 in Destiny's Child. She asked Taylor Swift to come out and give her speech over again.
Taylor came out in her red dress and started by saying, "Maybe we can try this again."
I'm very happy Beyonce let Taylor have the spotlight!

Post a CommentKanya West has proved time and time again that he is nothing more than an ignorant disrespectful thug. He's been fortunate to be where he is today and this is the example he sets.I wonder how Michael Jackson would have felt watching Kanya stoop so low after Michael's hard work for unity and world peace. Kanya's fans brought him to where he is today, It's about time his fans took him down a notch or two.
