The 2009 WWE Survivor Series matches have already been announced. The two biggest matches on the card will involve defenses of the the two major titles in WWE right now. Both matches will also be Triple Threat matches, meaning three wrestlers will be competing, and the champion doesn't even need to be pinned. Both matches also feature the current champ facing a powerfal tag team combination. For the Raw brand of wrestling, John Cena is currently WWE champion. He will be facing a tough challenge as he must defend against two wrestlers he's lost to the in past, who also happen to form a powerful tag team in WWE. D-Generation X's Shawn Michaels and Triple H will be Cena's Survivor Series opponents, and each has been a former champion. The two partners realize they have a strong chance for one of them winning the WWE title off Cena. At the same time, will these two friends and tag partners be operating on the same page? When it comes to a major title, wrestlers often ditch alliances for the sake of winning the ultimate prize. Cena will have to rely on his tough perservering nature to outlast these two and score a pinfall on one of them. Otherwise, a member of DX will very likely leave Survivor Series as champion.
As for the Smackdown side of the double main event, The Undertaker is the current World Heavyweight Champion. He will be defending in a Triple Threat match as well, and also against a very powerful tag team combination. Taker will be up against the Unified Tag Team champions, Chris Jericho and Big Show, who have been one of the most dominant tag teams in recent times. These two have held the tag titles for some time and have successfully defended against multiple tag teams over a number of Pay-Per-Views. However, that will not be as much a factor in this match. The two will each be focused on pinning the Undertaker. Big Show has his powerful Chokeslam and knockout punch moves, while Jericho has the Codebreaker and his Walls of Jericho submission move. Meanwhile, Undertaker has several powerful moves in his arsenal including the Chokeslam, Tombstone Piledriver, the Last Ride and his Hells' Gate submission. Will the Deadman be able to survive against one of the most dominant tag teams in recent history? More importantly, will Jericho and Big Show still be on the same page after the event?
The 2009 WWE Survivor Series Results will be posted on Sunday, November 22nd, 2009 at WWE Characters the Blog as of 8 PM EST when the event starts, and will continually be updated through 11PM EST when the Pay-Per-View normally ends. It's sure to be another great sports entertainment event, and provide fans with many thrills, surprises, twists and turns.
