The nominations for the 82nd Academy Awards were announced today by Academy President Tom Sherak and actress Anne Hathaway. This year the Oscar Nominations will include ten films nominated for Best Picture. James Cameron's movie "Avatar" and Kathryn Bigelow's movie "Hurt Locker" lead with nine nominations. "Avatar" James Cameron and Jon Landau, Producers

The movie was directed by James Cameron. "Avatar" was released December 18, 2009 and grossed $77,025,481 over the opening weekend. The movie had a production budget of $237 million.
