2010 AFC East Division Predictions; NFL Picks

New York Jets (12-4)
The New York Jets have made many impressive moves this off season including bringing in Antonio Cromartie, drafting Kyle Wilson, and trading for wide receiver Santonio Holmes. The Jets are ready to take over the AFC East and should do so in 2010. Although I feel the Jets made bad moves in releasing Alan Faneca and letting Thomas Jones go, they more than made up for it with their off season acquisitions and signings. Getting an experienced and still capable veteran like Jason Taylor helps as well. Expect the Jets to have a great season and win the AFC East.

New England Patriots (10-6)
Unlike the rest of America, I felt like the Patriots could have done a better job addressing several positions. Although they made several key moves, they still need an eventual replacement for Randy Moss, a compliment receiver with speed, and a dominant running back which they desperately need but have not been able to find for some time. The Patriots are still a great team, do not take my criticism as an indication that they are not one of the top 10 or even top 5 teams in the league, they just failed to make enough moves to keep up with the Jets. Patriots make the playoffs with ease, but lose the division to the Jets.

Miami Dolphins (8-8)
The Dolphins will have a very good offense if everyone can stay healthy and if Henne continues to improve. Bringing in Brandon Marshall was just one of several good moves for the team. I was not impressed with their draft, but they did address a need in picking up Jared Odrick to help their defensive line. The defense will be a liability for the Dolphins this season, and I think it will prevent them from staying with the Jets and Patriots when the season comes to an end. The division is just too good, but the Dolphins are only a couple of defensive play makers away from being a legitimate Super Bowl contender. For now they will have to settle with an 8-8 record.

Buffalo Bills (2-14)
Sorry Bills fans, things are going to get worse before they get better. I understand the draft philosophy of drafting the best player available instead of 'settling' to address a need, but drafting RB C.J. Spiller in the top ten was ridiculous. The Spiller pick makes sense if a trade was in place to trade one of their two fantastic options at running back in Lynch or Fred Jackson, but that was not the case. Letting countless quarterbacks and running backs pass by in the first three rounds proves that this organization has no clue how to build a football team, or are at least pretending like it. Anyone in Canada want an NFL team?
