2010 Cleveland Indians MVP: Shin-Soo Choo

Where were the Cleveland Indians during the 2010 baseball season? Seriously, the only time I heard about them was when Jason Donald got the hit that wasn't a hit ruining that Detroit Tigers pitcher's perfect game. I guess they were in Cleveland and I was not and not paying enough attention. So, I guess you can take my opinion here with a grain of salt, but from the looks of it the Cleveland Indians were riding on the shoulders of one player in terms of offense and he gets my vote for 2010 Team MVP.

Shin-Soo Choo is originally from South Korea, but spent his time playing outfield for the Cleveland Indians in 2010. He was in the 20-20 club in 2010 as well, which means he hit at least 20 homeruns an stole 20 bases. He had a team leading 22 of each of those mentioned statistics. I could name off more of his hitting statistical numbers, but really there is no one else on the team to compare to even trying to match his production. Shin-Soo Choo lead the Cleveland Indians team in every single hitting category, pretty much; he did have less triples than some.

On the defensive side he is known to be above average and throw out a runner or two. Adding this to his offensive abilities, including base running skills, and you can see why the "five-tool" player is very important to the Cleveland Indians. Actually, in 2010, you could say he WAS the Cleveland Indians, but then that would not be fair to Shin-Soo Choo because the team kind of failed and he was trying to ride on the winning track.

The Cleveland Indians were not the worst team in all of baseball, so I won't bag on them any more, but just end this with some more applause for Shin-Soo Choo. Clap. Clap. Clap.

Shin-Soo Choo is my pick for the Cleveland Indians 2010 Team MVP.
