2010 CMA Awards Preview & Review: Complete Nominee List, Predictions & Winners

Sherry Wight
When the curtain rises November 10, 2010 on the 44th annual CMA Awards, viewers will be treated to a star-studded display of musical talent from a slew of country and crossover artists including Jason Aldean, Kelly Clarkson, Kid Rock, Oscar winner Gwyneth Paltrow and many, many more. So who's up for what award and who should take home the biggest prizes after co-hosts Carrie Underwood and Brad Paisley have uttered their final jokes of the evening? Here's a look at the full 2010 CMA Award nominee list as presented on the official CMA website, along with a few predictions and updated with the actual winners in bold print, too.

2010 CMA Award Nominees: Entertainer of the Year
Brad Paisley
Keith Urban
Zac Brown Band
Miranda Lambert
Lady Antebellum

Projected Winner: Lady Antebellum, all the way.

2010 CMA Award Nominees: Female Vocalist of the Year
Miranda Lambert
Martina McBride
Reba McEntire
Taylor Swift
Carrie Underwood

Projected Winner: A tough one here, but Taylor Swift. Or Miranda Lambert. Or Taylor Swift.

2010 CMA Award Nominees: Male Vocalist of the Year
Dierks Bentley
Brad Paisley
Blake Shelton
George Strait
Keith Urban

Projected Winner: Brad Paisley, if only because he's won this one three years running, Dierks and Blake feel like filler noms and George is a perennial nom.

2010 CMA Award Nominees: New Artist of the Year
Luke Bryan
Easton Corbin
Jerrod Niemann
Chris Young
Zac Brown Band

Projected Winner: Really? Zac Brown still qualifies?! Them by a mile, but it seems almost unfair to the other four guys.

2010 CMA Award Nominees: Vocal Group of the Year
Lady Antebellum
Little Big Town
Rascal Flatts
The Band Perry
Zac Brown Band

Projected Winner: If Lady A takes EOTY, Zac Brown Band here. If they don't, then Lady A.

2010 CMA Award Nominees: Vocal Duo of the Year
Brooks & Dunn
Joey + Rory
Montgomery Gentry
Steel Magnolia
Sugarland

Projected Winner: Sugarland! Sugarland!

2010 CMA Award Nominees: Single of the Year
A Little More Country Than That
Hillbilly Bone
Need You Now
The House that Built Me
White Liar

Projected Winner: Tough category. I'll go with Need You Now, but Hillbilly Bone will probably take it.

2010 CMA Award Nominees: Album of the Year
Need You Now / Lady Antebellum
Play On / Carrie Underwood
Revolution / Miranda Lambert
Twang / George Strait
Up on the Ridge / Dierks Bentley

Projected Winner: Revolution.

2010 CMA Award Nominees: Song of the Year
A Little More Country Than That
Need You Now
The House that Built Me
Toes
White Liar

Projected Winner: Hmm, no idea. How about.... The House that Built Me.

2010 CMA Award Nominees: Musical Event of the Year
Bad Angel
Can't You See
Hillbilly Bone
I'm Alive
Till the End

Projected Winner: Although I prefer I'm Alive, I'll go with Hillbilly Bone.

2010 CMA Award Nominees: Music Video of the Year
Hillbilly Bone
Need You Now
The House that Built Me
Water
White Liar

Projected Winner: Water, but only because it seems like a completely random nomination.
