The 2010 CMT Music Awards kicked off this evening at 8 PM Eastern/Pacific on CMT, according to the CMT website. Hosted by the always entertaining crossover artist Kid Rock, the show honored the best of the best country music videos from the past year. Presenting awards were Dancing with the Stars season 10 third place finishers and alleged couple Erin Andrews and Maksim Chmerkovskiy, Snooki and The Situation from the MTV reality show Jersey Shore and superstar singer Sheryl Crow. Viewers of the 2010 CMT Music Awards also enjoyed performances by a host of popular country stars, including Carrie Underwood, Lady Antebellum and the Zac Brown Band.

According to the 2010 CMT Music Awards website, CMT One Country will make a contribution to the favorite charity of each artist who walked away with an award at evening's end. From Kreative Kids (Laura Bell Bundy) to Smile Train (Reba McEntire), stars have chosen to support a wide variety of organizations that serve all walks of life. Here's a look at the evening's nominees, as well as a few predictions. Underneath each prediction is the category's actual winner.

Video of the Year - 2010 CMT Music Awards nominees
Toby Keith - American Ride
Carrie Underwood - Cowboy Casanova
Lady Antebellum - Need You Now
Kenny Chesney - Out Last Night
Keith Urban - 'Til Summer Comes Around
Zac Brown Band - Toes
Jason Aldean - The Truth
Brad Paisley - Welcome to the Future
Miranda Lambert - White Liar
Taylor Swift - You Belong with Me

Prediction: Miranda Lambert has been white hot this year, so she stands a good chance at snagging this one. However, my guess is that Lady Antebellum, whose recent success and popularity ranks in the scorching blue hot range, will walk away with Video of the Year.
Actual Winner: Carrie Underwood. Car-rie! Car-rie! The reigning queen of country scores another great win.

Male Video of the Year - 2010 CMT Music Awards nominees
Toby Keith - American Ride
Billy Currington - People Are Crazy
Tim McGraw - Southern Voice
Keith Urban - 'Til Summer Comes Around
Jason Aldean - The Truth

Prediction: This is a tough category, but I'll go with 'Til Summer Comes Around. Why? Well, folks love Mr. Nicole Kidman.
Actual Winner: Keith Urban. Got it, didn't I?

Female Video of the Year - 2010 CMT Music Awards nominees
Reba McEntire - Consider Me Gone
Carrie Underwood - Cowboy Casanova
Miranda Lambert - White Liar
Taylor Swift - You Belong with Me

Prediction: Miranda Lambert. I know, I know: But Taylor Swift is nominated! I'm not sure it matters. The 20-year old could well take it after all, but it seems like her star's shone a little less brightly in recent months, so a win isn't a 'well duh!' kind of outcome this time.
Actual Winner: Miranda Lambert. Woot, check!

Group Video of the Year - 2010 CMT Music Awards nominees
Rascal Flatts - Here Comes Good-Bye
Gloriana - How Far Do You Wanna Go?
Lady Antebellum - Need You Now
Zac Brown Band - Toes

Prediction: Lady Antebellum. They're the hottest band on this list so far. A few years ago, Flatts for sure. In two years, Zac Brown. But for now, Lady A all the way.
Actual Winner: Lady Antebellum.

Duo Video of the Year - 2010 CMT Music Awards nominees
Brooks & Dunn - Indian Summer
Steel Magnolia - Keep on Lovin' You
Sugarland - Keep You
Sugarland - Nightswimming/Joey

Prediction: Brooks & Dunn. As much as I want to lean Sugarland's way here for Keep You, I can't. It's Brooks & Dunn's swan song year, and they're probably unbeatable as a result, despite Sugarland's recent duo dominance.
Actual Winner: Brooks & Dunn. Hey, I calls 'em as I sees 'em, and this time I saw 'em correctly!

Collaborative Video of the Year - 2010 CMT Music Awards nominees
Kellie Pickler and Taylor Swift - Best Days of Your Life
Jason Aldean and Bryan Adams - Heaven
Blake Shelton and Trace Adkins - Hillbilly Bone
Kenny Chesney and Dave Matthews - I'm Alive

Prediction: Hillbilly Bone. Not because I like it, but because I think everyone else likes it. A lot.
Actual Winner: Hillbilly Bone. Yup. Score another one for me.

CMT Performance of the Year - 2010 CMT Music Awards nominees
Reba McEntire - Consider Me Gone / Invitation Only
Lady Antebellum - Lookin' for a Good Time / 2009 CMT Music Awards
Tim McGraw - Southern Voice / Invitation Only
Carrie Underwood - Temporary Home / Invitation Only
Brad Paisley - Then / 2009 CMT Music Awards

Prediction: Lady A. Again, dominance.
Actual Winner: Carrie Underwood. Ooh, missed this one! I'd have picked Carrie because I adore her music, but didn't because I figured she'd fall to the dominance.

USA Weekend Breakthrough Video of the Year - 2010 CMT Music Awards nominees
Easton Corbin - A Little More Country Than That
Luke Bryan - Do I
Laura Bell Bundy - Giddy on Up
Steel Magnolia - Keep on Lovin' You

Prediction: Luke Bryan. I've heard this song so many times that it's committed to memory. The others? Not so much.
Actual Winner: Luke Bryan. Boo-ya.

I'm not much into Country music, but I did see Reba and that guy from SNL... that was funny. You really did a lot of work on this.
