2010 Emmys Best & Worst Dress: Who Got it Right? Who Got it Wrong?

Magnolia Miller
Like everyone else,I tuned into the Emmy's pre-show to get a look at who was wearing what. I was interested to see if we would have another Bjork moment and of course, we did. Read on to find out who made the best and worst dressed lists of the evening and see if you agree.

Worst Dressed? Depends on Who You're Asking

January Jones

January Jones wins the prize for the weirdest looking gown on the red carpet, hands down. Though I actually read in the British Daily Mail where someone said she was one of the best dressed? But, did they see it? The bright, metallic, royal blue "peacock" dress by Versace was just all wrong on every level. It was some sort of futuristic-cone-bra- meets-rubber-girl in The Invincibles. Just one word, girl, yuck.

Sofia Vergera

Sofia Vergara, from The Modern Family actually made two lists, the best and the worst. So, as usual, style is a subjective perception, I guess. Some called her "simply amazing. Others? Not so much. Personally, I thought she looked quite lovely. Though, I wouldn't have called her "amazing" by any stretch. She's curvy, she's voluptuous and she's got a sexy Spanish accent. But, her pale yellow, Carolina Herrera gown wasn't anything spectacular. However, she definitely out did peacock girl. So, that's saying something, I guess.

RadarOnline dissed acerbic comic, Kathy Griffin, who I thought looked rather elegant in her black, well fitted, Oscar de la Renta gown, accented with small mirrors. Truthfully, I couldn't tell they were actually mirrors. They looked like some sort of beading. But, whatever it was, I would have hardly put her on a worst dressed list. Kathy's 92 year old mother also looked fantastic in my view. She does not look 92 years old. Have you seen her? Check her out here. RadarOnline thinks she looked outdated. Personally, I thought she looked fab.

Tina Fey

Once again, my girl, Tina Fey, was unfairly dissed by RadarOnline. What's up over there, guys? She looked fantastic in her classy, Oscar de la Renta, silk organza gown. She didn't take home the Emmy for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series, (that went to Edie Falco in Nurse Betty?), but, I thought Tina Fey actually looked beautiful and classy.

Christina Hendricks

Okay, so RadarOnline and I do actually agree on Christina Hendricks in her Zac Posen, pale purple feather gown. Holy mammary glands, Batman! Though I've never actually seen her act in Mad Men, I've been an admirer of Christina Hendricks because she is not your typical Hollywood anorexic. She's got curves. Real curves - and she's not afraid to use them. But, it is possible to become too predictable, and I think Christina Hendricks has reached the expiration date on flashing her ample bosom. The Zac Posen gown was all wrong and the chest was just "way over the top." Surprise us next time, Christina.

Emily Blunt

RadarOnline failed to mention my favorite actress, Emily Blunt in their fashion run down. After I saw her dress in the British Daily Mail, however, I'm glad. She wore a lavender, Christian Dior. The only thing I can say is, "No, no, no, no, NO!!" Emily Blunt is a class act, anyway you look at it. She's on track to become the next Meryl Streep or Helen Mirren with her acting chops. But, she just didn't "bring it" this time, as they say. Love you Emily, but I was deeply disappointed.

Heidi Klum

I can't close out the worst dressed without a comment on Heidi Klum. I love Heidi, mainly because she's a mother of 4 and refuses to bow down to anorexic chic. But, having said that, she really, and I mean, really, needs to fire her stylist. I rarely see Heidi Klum where I do not think she looks a tad desperate and just a wee bit dirty. She just looked horrid in her black, Marchesa mini. She's a mother now and she's also pushing 40 years old. It's time to lower the hemline and wear a little class.

Best Dressed

Truthfully, I thought the best dressed of the night was actually a rather long list. Many people got it right and looked well put together. Navy blue was the color of the evening and I just loved it.

Lea Michele

RadarOnline and I both agree that Lea Michele from Glee was one of those who got it right. She wore a midnight blue Oscar de la Renta and looked stunning, from head to toe.

Lo Bosworth

They also called Lo Bosworth best dressed in her green pencil dress. I wouldn't even call it a gown, frankly. I thought she looked beautiful, but for the Emmys, she seemed a bit dressed down to me. She looked more like she was going to a business lunch rather than the Emmys. But, having said all that, she sure didn't mess it up. She looked lovely.

Jayma Mays

Jayma Mays wore a beautiful navy gown by Burberry. Though, RadarOnline calls it sapphire. Yeah, okay. But, we both agree, the girl looked gorgeous and elegant. Well done.

Eva Longoria

Eva Longoria wore a stunning Robert Rodriguez in basic black that showed off her perfect, little Mexican curves. Have you ever seen Eva get it wrong? Me neither. Two thumbs up, once again.

Anna Paquin

RadarOnline called Anna Paquin best dressed. I couldn't have disagreed more. But, look, I don't get Anna Paquin anyway. She calls herself bi-sexual, which I will never understand. She just got married, and I keep wondering why, if she says she's bi-sexual. And she looks like, well, a platypus to me.

Yeah, I know. I know. Everyone thinks she's totally cool with the vampire craze and everything. But, I'm not a fan, okay? And this dress? I dunno. She looked like a matador. "El Yucko."

Jennifer Graham

Jennifer Graham. I don't have a clue who this girl is, but I will agree with RadarOnline and others that she looked fabulous. Described as a black on nude, off the shoulder, beaded dress by Zuhair Murad, she definitely stood out as one of the best on the red carpet. I loved it. Even if I don't know who she is.

Claire Danes

Finally, I definitely save the best for last. Everyone and I mean everyone agreed, Claire Danes took the top prize of the night for best dressed. She got it right from her head to her toes. Beautiful hair, perfect make-up and the most beautiful beaded, strapless, Armani Privé, in the palest pink. She was breath taking. Simple, understated, less is more, glamour. She couldn't have gotten it more perfect. Of course, winning outstanding lead actress in a television movie for her role in Temple Grandin, probably didn't hurt her feelings either. Congratulations, Claire Danes, on your Emmy. But, seriously, girl, LOVED the dress!
