2010 Fall Makeup Trends

Nuetral, Bold and Mesmerizing Looks Graced the Fall 2010 Runway Shows

Any runway show reveals its true character by the clothing and make up styles created for the show. Over-the-top runway looks create trends that are street chic and make the most simple outfits stand out. With each show designers try to develop innovative ways to send a ripple of buzz on what is the hottest, must have item for the season. 2010 Fall runway makeup is no different. Depending on the designer the looks are street credible, subtle and very wearable.

Devi Kroell burst onto the runways with one of the great Kohl "winged eyeliner" looks that makes its way onto the fashion scene every season. This ultra cool, ultra exaggerated cat eyed look presented itself with a 60's richness. The peach pop of lipstick color Marc Jacobs chose for his show was much lighter than the shade of bright coral that graced the Spring 2010 runways. This pale combination of peach and muted eye makeup really gives life to the neutral backdrop created by makeup artist Francois Nars. This light shade of peach is one that was chosen from Francois Nars own makeup line.

Diane Von Furstenberg's effect was just as mesmerizing as Marc Jacobs but her show exploded with iridescent, heavily shadowed eyes and neutral lipstick. The look was bold and commanded respect. Make up artist James Kaliardos layered black cream shadow with blue and green shades. The model's makeup already made statements but Kaliardos upped the ante by adding sparkles to the inner corners creating a mystical, multidimensional eye.

Although over-the-top makeup usually lends itself to trends that are heavy and bold the 2010 Fall runways also presented an array of designers that kept the makeup simple, but incredibly beautiful. Makeup at the Thakoon, Philosophy, and Adam shows gave models luminous, radiant skin. The palettes were neutral but bronze-rose colors swept the skin creating natural looks we women envy. For a completely opposite effect Preen's runway was delving into the subtle, but unusual, with iridescent lavender cheekbones.

Similar to Spring 2010 gold and bronze made headway on the runways for Vena Cava,Cushnie et Ochs and Daniel Vosovic. These two color combinations were used for the eyes and for cheeks. These subtle shades created a sun kissed look that is still chic and very wearable for all.

I don't have the skin tone to follow trends but it sure is interesting to see how the make-up trends keep repeating.
