2010 Ferrari F450 Review

The F430 Replacement in the Works

Serge Pupko
There have been quite a few speculations about Ferrari reworking the F430, and some were guessing it would be the F450, some were speculating it would be the F500. Whatever it's going to be called, it's going to replace the F430, it is going to have a more powerful V8 engine that will produce 500 horsepower!

The new F450 will rival the Lamborghini Gallardo. And it's a good job Ferrari is replacing the F430 because it's just not as powerful as the new Gallardo. The new F450 will most likely have a 4.5L V8 with a pair of turbochargers, that some say will be able to rev up to 10,000 RPM! Some spies have got pictures of some of the body panels, but we still don't know exactly how it will look.

Well, with news of a new Ferrari, or rather an improved Ferrari, Lamborghini better get back to the drawing board. Because the F450 will have a smaller engine, it'll also be more economical, and more environmentally friendly. Or is it? I think, despite the engine size dropping by .3L, it'll still be more powerful, and if it's true that it might rev up to 10,000 RPM, I don't think that'll make much difference. The engine will rev higher than the 4.8L V8 in the F430, so it will still chuck out Carbon Dioxides just as much.

The F450 is great news for another reason. I always saw the F430 as the perfect Ferrari. It's beautiful, aside from the bumper, which, if you fit a Scuderia bumper on, will look brilliant. But, the bumper is it's only problem. In every other respect, it's the supercar! And with news of a replacement, guess what what might to happen to the F430; it might drop in price. Well, that's happened to just about everything when it was replaced. Except, I wouldn't be so sure.

I think what also might happen is the F430, when they kill it off by making the F450, will become a classic, and actually gain value. But then again, with the economy the way it is, anything could happen. And with 2012 coming up, who knows? Maybe the world will disintegrate altogether! But, let's not get hung up on that.

My question is: will the F450 be worthy of being a replacement for the F430? Well, when Ferrari fully reveal the identity of the new prancing horse, we will know. I think that the F430 will always be a special one to me. That's because for the longest time, I hated Ferrari. Every single car in their line-up has been an ugly duckling. That is until they introduced the F430. I accepted the F430, but will I accept the F450?

I've been into cars for a long time now. It started as a little kid when I started drawing cars for fun. My cars, though, did not have guns and fins on them, well, most of them didn't, to say the least. I fo...  View profile
