2010 Grammy Awards Red Carpet Fashion Divas and Duds

We all need our little indulgences; after some more cerebral articles, I enjoy taking potshots at celebrity fashion mishaps. Tonight we saw what the divas had for us at the 2010 Grammy Awards. I will walk you through the fashion pass and fail.

2010 seems to be the year of the breast. Heidi Klum, for instance. Is it just me or is Heidi a great looking woman with zero fashion sense? Tonight was a long-sleeved, super short number with metallic gold highlighting her scooped out cleavage. The dress really should be called a shirt. The sleeves were longer than the cuff line.
And Beyonce. I disagree with the general concensus that her dress was a fail. But again, 'the twins' were more out than in. Kathy Griffin's set rested just under her chin. But worst of all was Nadeea. Her ragged black skirt looked like cobwebs and her top, if you could call it that resembled those stick on nipple tassels that strippers wore in the thirties.

Lady Ga Ga was tame, for Ga Ga. Her dress was actually a sort of dress, but it resembled an atom symbol or an unsprung Slinky. Ga Ga carried a spikey star type thing that looked lethal. Miley Cyrus's dress looked reptilian. Fergie, another real frequent fail wore a dress that reminded me of Wonder Woman. But the coup de gras was Britney Spears, in a crepey black one piece bathing suit covered with pieces of black tulle. It looked like a cross between The Rocky Horror Picture Show and Caberet. Shaila Durcal-very, very, very colorful. Imogene Heap's wrinked tissue dress wasn't so bad, I mean she's kind of an alternative singer, and the parasol was okay but I think it was broken in spots. The clincher for Imogene's look was the curious bullet bandara or studded belt, around her neck?

My favorite dresses were Carrie Underwood, Taylor Swift and Katie Perry who looked like Olympian goddesses. India Arie was positively regal. Mary J. Blige and Jennifer Nettles looked poised and stunning. Keri Hilson and Niecy Nash were sultry, flamenco gorgeous. Well there you have the 2010 Grammy Divas and Duds.

I agree, Carrie always looks like a lady! All the rest? Well, they need fashion counseling. Cheers
