2010 Honda Odyssey Touring Mini Van Reviewed by MrTechnical
MrTechnicals Car Lover Extraordinaire Review of the Honda Odyssey for 2010
With their standard 3.5 Liter V-6 engine they are yielding 244 horsepower and getting 17 mpg city plus 25 mpg on the highway. These types of mini vans are not typically used for construction or heavy lifting projects, but they do a great job with hauling normal families around safely with cargo and kids. It is strange to me, however, that they seem to be using the same 3.5 Liter engine in all seven of the 2010 Odyssey models. This 3.5 Liter engine uses cylinder deactivation along with variable valve timing to make these run smoother but also more efficiently! So there is logically some economy of scale in using the same engine in all models. This is a trend that we will probably see more of as auto companies fight to stay competitive.
These minivans are a consumer favorite and they have been in that position since their second year of sales. For at least the last ten years consumers have been raving about the reliability and ease of use on this Honda Odyssey. These are now into their third generation and other than missing an update to the styling that was talked about all around the Internet this spring which seems to have been a hoax as it is pretty much the same minivan this year as last.
If you test drove one you would find it to be of a very high quality fit and finish just like everything in Honda's lineup and that is a good thing since consumers are looking for as much bang for our buck as we can get. The image of a soccer mom and her three kids piling into the Odyssey is not far off but there are plenty of other people who love their Honda Odysseys! One of those owners I know is a lawyer who works at her Law Offices around the corner from me, she has two small children and they all love their Odyssey! The family has a car wash on Sundays at home after church and everyone pitches in cleaning up the weeks debris.
So their 6 year old Odyssey still looks as clean and shiny as it did when it was purchased! This is a testament to the high quality vehicles that Honda builds. So most moms that I know who own this Odyssey model from Honda are really happy with it. This obviously means that the vehicle is safe and quite roomy enough for kids and their friends plus all of their gear!
It is no surprise that the "Touring" model offers more features than the other six models. Here is a list of some of their more popular options:
17 inch tires, double wishbone rear suspension, traction control system, power sliding side doors, and power lift gate, disc brakes all around with fronts ventilated, AM-FM six disc CD player with CD MP-3 in dash, plus great sound system with 7 speakers inside, and much much more!
Some of the specifications were taken from the following web sources, plus local newspaper car advertisements, and visits to local car dealerships.
