The 2010 Indiana State Fair opens August 6 and will run thru August 22. This years state fair will prove to be a perfect way to spend a summertime day of fun. Gate Admission for the fair is $8 for adults with children 5 and under are free. Discount tickets are on sale for $7 at all Indiana Walmart stores, CVS/pharmacy stores, Indiana Farm Bureau offices, The Marten House Hotel and the Indiana State Fairgrounds box office. 2010 Year of the Pigs is the theme presented by Indiana Pork Farmers .for this years state fair. You will find pigs everywhere in celebration of the Indiana Pork Industry. The Indiana Pork Farmers have announced they will be introducing a new sandwich at this years fair.

Several new events are planned for this years Indiana State Fair including the celebration of "Bridges to Japan" exhibit with Japanese performances, food and displays. Another you will want to see is the 25 foot sculpture of Grant Woods' famous "American Gothic" portrait depicting traditional farming life.

    State fairs, I strongly suspect, can be most interesting. From what I've heard, however, that can't really be said of Virginia.
