Now, "Spider-Man" will attempt to climb even higher and win his fourth Indy 500 title in the 94th running of the event on the 2.5-mile circuit at Indianapolis Motor Speedway.
Castroneves posted the fastest time in qualifying at 2:37.9154 with a speed of 227.970 mph.
Among the drivers who'll try to knock Castroneves off his perch are No. 2 qualifier Will Power (2:38.1876) and No. 3 Dario Franchitti (2:38.5970).
Four of the five women who attempted to qualify made the 39-car field. Ana Beatriz was the fastest female at 2:40.5402 and a speed of 224.245 mph and will start 21st. Simona de Silvestro (2:40.5511) and Danica Patrick (2:40.5584) were just behind Beatriz and will start 22nd and 23rd, respectively. Sarah Fisher will start 29th after posting a 2:40.4033.
