Blazing; 12.7 Seconds at 112MPH

In a sea of great white shark V8's the 2010 Mercedes Benz E63 AMG is a killer whale. The 2010 E63 AMG is the cornerstone of how V8 performance should be judged, no pushrods and four times as many camshafts as a Chevy V8 LS1, the DOHC 6.2 liter AMG power plant is a mighty unit under the hood of the 2010 E63 AMG. The 2010 E63 AMG's engine creates a jaw dropping 518 horsepower at 6800 rpm and an impressive 465ftlbs of torque. This is not a common sight to see in the world of normally aspirated V8's. This power level has been bumped up 11 horsepower from the previous E63 AMG. The 2010 E63 AMG is an amazing machine when it comes to straight line performance, no other midsized sedans are quite up to the task that this king of the sea is up to. With as much available horsepower and torque as the 2010 E63 AMG has, it springs from zero to 60 mph in 4.6 seconds and annihilates the quarter mile in 12.7 seconds at 112 mph.

The 2010 E63 AMG is definitely a business mans car, no manual shift option here. The 2010 E63 AMG utilizes a seven speed dual clutch semi automatic which was originally designed for the SL63, but has been re-assigned for duty to the 2010 E63. With this much torque there are no dry clutch packs in this vehicles clutch drum, they're all bathed in gear oil to make sure that they are kept cool when shifting as quickly as 100 miliseconds, and shifting very smoothly I might add. The dual clutch semi-automatic is an excellent choice for the 2010 E63 AMG because it's lightweight and doesn't absorb horsepower like a typical automatic slush box. It should also be noted that this seven speed offers excellent gas mileage, using less power to operate and being in constant contact with the engines flywheel; never leaving a scrap of horsepower or torque behind.

So, we know that the 2010 E63 AMG can go, but can it stop and handle? The answer to those questions is yes it can. The 2010 E63 AMG effortlessly pulls off a 0.90g rated skid pad test and can stop in a neck braking 114 feet from 60 mph. Not bad at all, considering the curb weight of the 2010 E63 AMG is just over 4300 pounds. The 2010 E63 AMG's braking performance is thanks to its huge 14.2 inch front rotors with six piston calipers and four piston caliper rear disc brakes. The 2010 E63 AMG also rips through the slalom at a blazing 68 mph which is almost identical to the BMW M5. So, what do you get for $102,000? You get a four door AMG luxury business sedan that performs in a straight line like a Chevrolet Corvette, neck brace necessary braking, and the daily functionality of driving an automatic for that stop and go traffic.
