Turner, Johnson, Ebanks Lead NBA Draft Small Forward Prospects

Jackson Lewis
The 2010 NBA Draft is just around the corner, and Ohio State guard Evan Turner is one of the leading overall prospects for the 2010 NBA draft. He is listed as my top small forward prospect, though he is more of a hybrid small forward/wing player at his height and capability. Other top small forward prospects for the 2010 NBA draft include Wesley Johnson of Syracuse, Devin Ebanks of West Virginia, and Al-Farouq Aminu of Wake Forest. Aminu bypassed the 2009 NBA draft, but is expected to declare for 2010.

2010 NBA Mock Draft Top 5 Small Forward Prospects

#1 2010 NBA Mock Draft Power Forward Prospect - Evan Turner - Ohio State

Evan Turner is 6'7" tall and weights 205 lbs. Its expected that he will declare for the 2010 NBA draft since he will likely be picked in the lottery portion of the first round. He has been leading the Big Ten and Ohio State since his return from a broken back earlier in the year and is scoring 17.5ppg, 10.3 rpg, and 5.9 apg. Turner shoots almost 60 percent from the field, though his 3 point average is below 30%. He is also considered on of the top players for the 2010 Naismith Trophy awarded to the top college basketball player.

Wesley Johnson also has good height at 6'7", 206 lbs and is projected to be an upper first round pick in the draft. So far for the 2009-10 season, he is averaging 17.4 ppg, 8.9 rpg, and 2.2 apg. He hits 3's at just under 50% and has a 56.6 % field goal percentage.

#3 2010 NBA Mock Draft Power Forward Prospect - Devin Ebanks - West Virginia

Ebanks will likely declare for the draft if he is projected to be an upper first round pick. He has been in/out of the lottery on the various NBA mock drafts. He has great height for the NBA at 6'9" and weighs just over 200 lbs. His numbers for the year so far are 12.0 ppg, 8.0 rpg, and 3.0 apg and shoots almost 82% from the line and 44.6 % from the field.

#4 2010 NBA Mock Draft Power Forward Prospect -Al-Farouq Aminu - Wake Forest

Aminu would have been drafted in the first round last year if he had declared for the draft. He has NBA size at 6'9", 215 lbs and has been scoring at a 16.8 ppg, and 11.6 rpg clip this season. He shoots almost 50 percent from the field and just over 30% from 3.

#5 2010 NBA Mock Draft Power Forward Prospect - Stanley Robinson - UConn

Stanley Robinson has been one bright spot for the Huskies this season. He is 6'9" tall and weighs over 210 lbs. He has been scoring at a 17.1ppg clip, 7.7 rpg, and 1.6 blocks per game.
