There are some clear favorites still playing strong on their way to the 2010 Women's College World Series, including the defending national champion Washington Huskies that will play host to Oklahoma beginning on May 27th. Then there is the No.1 overall seeded Alabama Crimson Tide that will play against Hawaii in the Tuscaloosa Super Regional. The most interesting series might be Missouri vs. Oregon in the Columbia Super Regional though, as another tough Pac 10 team tries to advance to the Women's College World Series out of that conference. There are still six Pac-10 teams left in the 2010 Super Regionals, leading some to believe that there is still a clear power conference out West. Those teams are Oregon, Washington, UCLA, Arizona State, Arizona, and California.
The 2010 Super Regional schedule gets started on Thursday, May 27th with the Oklahoma vs. Washington and Tennessee vs. Michigan games. They will continue through the weekend, with each Super Regional being a double elimination to decide which teams make it to the 2010 Women's College World Series. Can Washington repeat as the Women's Softball National Champions? Or is another team going to try and take a crack at breaking up the overall Pac-10 dominance of the sport? Game 1 of each series is listed below, with Game 2 and Game 3 taking place on the following day. It will be interesting to see if one of the dominant pitchers out there can lead a surprise team all the way to the Women's College World Series. Will a Cinderella story survive the 2010 NCAA softball super regionals? Or will the playoffs be predictable? Games get started on Thursday, May 27th, 2010.
