March 4, Quarterfinals
#8 Monmouth at #1 Quinnipiac
Time 7 p.m.
Monmouth goes in as the decided underdog a title they didn't earn after splitting the season series with Monmouth. This one is at home for Quinnipiac though so the edge most certainly goes to them. Hopefully, Monmouth can avoid allowing another triple-double to James Feldeine, Quinnipiac's talented senior guard.
Result: Quinnipiac over Monmouth
#7 Central Connecticut State at #2 Robert Morris
Time 7 p.m.
Robert Morris dominates this game right from the get go. The Colonels can run and gun with the best of them. Central Connecticut just can't keep up with their opposition and the Colonels use too many guys to focus on shutting down a single source.
Result: Robert Morris over Central Connecticut State
#6 Saint Francis at #3 Mount St. Mary's
Time 7 p.m.
Devin Sweetney, St. Francis's senior and leading scorer, will provide the points and leadership for his team as they battle in this game. Jeremy Goode the point guard of Mount St. Mary's will lead his team to victory. He will dish and swish his team to victory over the Red Flash.
Result: Mount St. Mary's over Saint Francis
#5 Fairleigh Dickinson at #4 Long Island
Time 7:30 p.m.
Long Island won the regular season 68-62 at home and in a hard fought game. Each team is pretty balanced, but Dickinson has more guys to go to when they need a score. Yet, Long Island has Jaytornah Wisseh a senior guard that dominates a team almost every game. He is a three skill player. He will rebound, dish and swish Long Island to a win.
Result: Long Island over Fairleigh Dickinson
March 7, Semifinals
#4 Long Island at #1 Quinnipiac
Time 2 p.m.
Quinnipiac won the first matchup at home against Long Island 80-72. The team even survived getting 22 points dropped on them by Long Island star Jaytomah Wisseh. This game will be similar as Quinnipiac rides through the domination of Wisseh because they are the better team and continue on to victory.
Result: Quinnipiac over Long Island
#3 Mount St. Mary's at #2 Robert Morris
Time TBA
Mount St. Mary's won the game before the tournament 63-61 at home. This puts them as the underdog considering they will be on the road at Robert Morris. Each team lacks a dominant scorer to lead their team. Mount St. Mary's has the hot streak coming into the tournament. Robert Morris has their home court and a near win at the opponents court to feed off of. This one goes to Robert Morris as they kill Mount St. Mary's hot streak.
Result: Robert Morris over Mount St. Mary's
March 10, Final
#2 Robert Morris at #1 Quinnipiac
Time 7 p.m.
This is how it is supposed to be with the top two teams fighting it out for that automatic bid into the NCAA Championship. Quinnipiac won the regular season match up 87-79 in a high scoring affair. Everyone hopes to see a high scoring game and that is what they are given. Quinnipiac controls the game from the beginning of the game though. Robert Morris has no stars on their team and that is exactly what you need for the big games like the 2010 NEC Championship. So the story that has been fulfilled is the one of Quinnipiac going all the way through the tournament and winning it as the favorite in the tournament.
Result: Quinnipiac over Robert Morris
2010 CAA Basketball Champion: Quinnipiac
