Jared Odrick's Strengths
Once you watch Odrick play, you immediately see what he brings to the table. Odrick is a big guy, standing 6'5" and weighs just over 300 lbs, yet he moves with the athleticism and speed of a smaller defensive line player.
During his time at Penn State, Odrick showed he was able to pick up his game and become a factor for the Nittany Lions in the late quarters. This relentless effort will pay off big for Odrick when he plays in the NFL.
Odrick's knowledge of the game is evident when you see how he moves through the anatomy of a play. He developed solid football instincts playing along side other great defensive lineman like Aaron Maybin.
Jared Odrick's Weaknesses
One weakness that is noticed in Odrick's game is his inability to remain disciplined. During his last season at college, there were times when Odrick simply overran the play or ending up missing our on the quarterback sack.
There are times when Odrick's pass rushing technique seems solid, and then there are those times that make you wonder how he can even record a sack. Luckily this is something that can be fixed at the NFL level.
Jared Odrick will be drafted by the Indianapolis Colts
As evident in their Super Bowl loss to the New Orleans Saints, the Colts are thin at the defensive line position.
If one of their premiere players sustained a major injury during the season, it could seriously hamper their playoff chances.
Odrick would fit in nicely with the Colts' defense, using his athleticism and quickness to his advantage from either the end position or possible inside tackle.
Jared Odrick is one of those college players who can make a big splash in the 2010 NFL draft by being selected by the end of the first round on Day one.
