In 2010 I started writing NFL stories and found an audience from writing injury reports. It turns out a lot of fans from different categories of NFL viewers want to know more about injuries. Fantasy football players need info that informs them about the possible outcomes of their chosen fantasy football team roster. On the other hand Sunday viewers want to know info that will make their viewing experience more satisfying.
Injured Reserve Reports
The first injured reserve report I wrote in November of 2010 is my best performing story ever in terms of page views...it's a tally of each NFL team's injuries that landed players on the injured reserve list. A similar report in December of 2010 updated the November 2010 report...this report was my second highest performing story of all time. Both these stories still have significant page views long after the NFL season has concluded. Check them out.
Playoff Contender Injury Reports
As the playoffs approached in late 2010 I wrote injury reports for the Baltimore Ravens and the Atlanta Falcons with the intention of offering a look at how injuries might affect their playoff performance. These two stories did very well and continue to do well several months after the season has concluded for them. Check those out.
New York Giants Injury Assessment
During the mid-season of 2010 I wrote a story for those numerous Giants fans out there to speculate on how injuries affected the teams performance. Check that out to see what I said.
Fantasy Football Fans and Sunday Viewers
I found serious numbers of Sunday viewers who liked to be informed about the accumulation of injuries to make their Sunday viewing more meaningful. Fantasy football fans, on the other hand, tuned in to my channel to better prepare their fantasy roster with an eye toward winning their fantasy league.
Pick 'Em Contest Winner
I participated in a pick 'em contest to pick winners here (at the Yahoo Contributor Network) in NFL games last year and found myself at the end of the season at the top or very near there in three prediction categories. I picked winners against the point spread at a nearly 60% success rate. I really do know what to look for when predicting games. Check out the links which showed how I did.
