Russia rounding out the last of the medals in the bronze for men's 5000 meter speed skating.
Ivan Skovbrev a very strong skater took the bronze in this event yesterday.
So after five events in total Canada has one medail and the United States has four. It is not unusual for the Americans to dominate the olympics in the medal standings. Canada has spent over 117 million dollars in the past 5 years in preparing their althletes for this event. I certainly hope this pays off but after the current medal standings I am a little skeptical.
This could be an amazing year for Canada. One thing I would like to note, is the Canadian women's hockey team never fail to disappoint. There first game ended in a 18-0 win over slovakia. They will be playing Switzerland today at 2:30 PM and I am sure they will do quite well.
