The 2010 Oscar nominations live presentation will take place on Tuesday, February 2nd, 2010. The 2010 Oscar nominations will be presented by actress Anne Hathaway and Academy President Tom Sherak in a one hour presentation that will reveal to the world who is nominated for an Oscar in 2010. The show is going to be broadcast live so that media sources can get the information very early in the day, and will surely become the talk of Hollywood before the sun sets on Tuesday. It's a big day not just for the 2010 nominees, but for the film industry as well, as a number of films are about to find success from their 2009 releases.

The 2010 Oscar nominee announcements will begin at 5:00 a.m. PST and 8:00 a.m. EST, making it an extremely early start to the day for those living on the West Coast. The full nominations themselves will be announced at 5:38 a.m., with some of the best movies of the past year netting a place in movie history. It will be an even more interesting year because there are going to be 10 films nominated for Best Picture. The change was intended to allow a larger field of options for voters and to draw more interest to all the nominees, but it has not played out in practice just yet, so we will have to wait and see how it works in the end. What it could do is allow a blockbuster to break into the top 10 that might not normally garner a nomination.

One of the expectations from these 2010 Oscar nominees is that Meryl Streep will find herself nominated for yet another Oscar, and that Sandra Bullock could find herself nominated for a Best Actress award. With 10 films nominated for Best Picture, it will also be interesting to see if anyone feels that there was a film that gets "snubbed" with the five extra slots available. Will the 2010 Oscars end up being more about what the fans liked in theaters, or is it going to be a year where the independent films garner a heavy load of nominees once again? We find out the answers to these as well as many other Oscar questions on Tuesday morning. Then the guessing begins about who might win.
