2010 Oscar Predictions for Actors and Actresses

The Oscars are a prestigious award ceremony that honers that best of the best in the big screen productions.
This year such greats as Sandra Bullock, George Clooney and Brad Pitt are among the nominees. Here are my picks for the winners.

Best Supporting Actress

Penelope Cruz, Nine
Vera Farmiga, Up in the Air
Maggie Gyllenhaal, Crazy Heart
Anna Kendrick, Up in the Air
Mo'Nique, Precious: Based on the Novel Push by Sapphire.

My pick in the category for best supporting actress is Mo'Nique. I believe that her performance was an outstanding one and that she is Oscar-worthy.

Best Supporting Actor

Matt Damon, Invictus
Woody Harrelson, The Messenger
Christopher Plummer, The Last Station
Stanley Tucci, The Lovely Bones
Christoph Waltz, Inglourious Basterds

While it was a bit harder to choose who I liked for this Oscar, I finally went with Matt Damon. A previous favorite, I can see him walking away with the Oscar.

Best Director

James Cameron, Avatar
Kathryn Bigelow, The Hurt Locker
Quentin Tarantino, Inglourious Basterds
Lee Daniels, Precious: Based on the Novel Push by Sapphire
Jason Reitman, Up in the Air.

Hands down, James Cameron. Cameron gave us blockbuster hits such as Titanic, and Avatar is his latest hit on the big screen. I like him for this Oscar category.

The Oscars are always a night filled with excitement and suspense. Having to wait for your favorite category's winner to be announced can seem like a lifetime. Oscar night is a highly anticipated night and is sure to be the hottest topic Monday morning at the water cooler.
