2010 Oscars Best Dressed Goes to Strapless Gowns Winners Jennifer Lopez, Cameron Diaz, Penelope Cruz
Bare Shoulders and Long Gowns Make Up the 82nd Academy Awards Best Dressed Lists
(... and we'll be skipping the best dressed guys at the 2010 Oscars. Why? Because suits and tuxes are pretty standard. Can't handle that? Then one deserves the worst dressed lists...)
There seems to be universal agreement on Cameron Diaz being one of the most beautifully dressed at the 82nd Academy Awards. Her gold-ensparkled strapless gown by Oscar de la Renta was exquisite and was the perfect compliment to her Veronica Lake hairstyle.
Ever wonder what Vivian Leigh would have looked like if she had just rolled herself up in Tara's drapes instead of using needle and thread? She would have been beautiful, just as Penelope Cruz was at Sunday night's Oscar ceremony, wearing a Donna Karan stylish statement seemingly made from a twist of flattering crimson.
What best dressed list would be complete without at least one award nominee? Oscar nominee for Best Actress Carey Mulligan ("An Education") was perhaps the cutest creation at the 2010 Oscar ceremony. Her black strapless Prada was embellished and had an asymmetrical, trailing hemline. The pixie cut of her hair simply set the look off.
Elizabeth Banks was a sinuous smoke-wrapped set of curves in her strapless Versace gown. The gown let out into a shower of ruffles that made the sexy number look even more smoky.
Demi Moore mastered nearly the same look in peach with a satin tiered Atelier Versace strapless gown. The form-fitting dress had more of a Latin feel to it, with the peach ruffles flowing into a train. The split front showed off Moore's legs as well.
Jennifer Lopez was striking in - was that bubble-wrap? Whatever the material used to make the iridescent pearl (?) strapless Armani Prive gown, it was stunning - as was Jennifer Lopez in it. And the gathered train at the hip was a nice touch. Lopez knows how to accessorize as well, going with white clutch, a wide-banded ring, bracelet and matching earrings.
So it would seem that strapless was the way to get noticed and on the best dressed list at the 2010 Oscars. But which was the best of the best dressed? At this level of magical beauty, does it matter?

Post a CommentBesides their big wins, Sandra and Catherine's dresses were also pretty splendid, but Cameron Diaz looked sublime!
Excellent, didn't get the see it, thanks... :o)
You've come along way in describing fashion! Good job!
And now you have mastered fashions :)
peach was the color this year, nice write up
And the Oscar for best sentence goes to... "Elizabeth Banks was a sinuous smoke-wrapped set of curves in her strapless Versace gown." P.S. I thought JLo's dress was made out of bubble wrap, too... though if anyone can carry off the bubble wrap look and still look gorgeous, it is she!
Good Oscars fashion review!
