2010 Saleen S5S Raptor Super Car Review

Saleen has killed off the S7 but there's a predecessor. S5S Raptor is a brand-new Saleen. Remember the S7? It was a car the size of Texas. It might have been lower than my waste line, but it's enormous in all other ways; including the engine. Saleen S7 was powered by a V8 producing mountains of horsepower, and was among the fastest production cars. But it all came a a big price. Now, Saleen is bringing the S5S with a 5.0 supercharged V8. But it's no where near the 5.0 Mustang GT, the S5S Raptor produces 650 horsepower, giving it 0-60 in 3.2 seconds! That's Bugatti Veyron figures!

The S5S is made to be fast even when standing in place. It has a sleek design, and it looks ultra good. Unlike the Bugatti Veyron, it doesn't look elegant. It does, however, look extremely menacing. The headlights are made to send you under your bed, and the tail lights are made to scare the life out of you. But it's the performance that is the most menacing. It's made to top over 200 miles. And the power, with the size of the car, is enormous! I don't think it's made to rival the Ferrari F430, though it will go for F430 money. I think it'll push up there with Porsche Carrera GT, Pagani Zonda, and Ferrari Enzo! Performance figures aren't available yet, but considering the amount of power that the S5S chucks out, I'm more than sure that it'll rival the biggest names in super car industry.

I love this car. I haven't seen photos of the engine or the interior, but I'm in love with the form. I don't know how anyone could hate it! My only concern is that someone other than Lewis Hamilton or Michael Schumacher will be able to afford it. And that's a problem because I don't think there are many people out there who would be able to handle the Raptor. Maybe it's called "Raptor" because though it may be small, it has sharp claws, and teeth, and if someone who can't tame it buys it, it'll kill him or her.

I've been into cars for a long time now. It started as a little kid when I started drawing cars for fun. My cars, though, did not have guns and fins on them, well, most of them didn't, to say the least. I fo...   View profile
