All 2010 Subaru vehicles come standard with a boxer engine and symmetrical AWD. The performance models are no different. The boxer engine is fitted with a turbo charger, inter cooler and functional hood scoop. While turbo charging boosts power by pumping more air into the cylinders, for peak performance it's essential that the timing of the fuel and air delivery be accurately controlled. The Subaru Active Valve Control System (AVCS) on the 2010 Subaru WRX and the Dual Active Valve Control System (DAVCS) on the Subaru WRX STI make all this possible. These systems deliver a fuel and air mixture at exactly the right moment. The valve timing adjusts to match the engine rpm and creates a perfect response at any speed. All 2010 Subaru WRX's and 2010 Subaru STI's are only available in manual transmissions. The WRX is a five speed and the STI is equipped with a six speed manual transmission.

A single disc CD player comes in the base but the Premium model is available with fog lights, sun roof, cold weather package and six disc CD changer with optional in dash Navigation. The 2010 Subaru WRX comes standard with an aero package body kit to distinguish it from an Impreza GT.
The 2010 Subaru Impreza WRX STI is a one of a kind sports car. It is only available in the five door hatch model. Although it uses the same style as the WRX hatch only the two front doors are the same exterior parts. Every other exterior panel will be different with flared fenders and a mean sports grill. The 2010 Subaru WRX STI comes standard with 305 horsepower with 290 pounds of torque under the hood and symmetrical AWD. It is able to reach 0 -60 mph in 4.7 seconds. Driving a special car like this gives you a feel like none other. Subaru included a Driver Controlled Center Differential (DCCD). You now control how your 2010 Subaru Impreza WRX STI distributes power to its AWD. There are three different presets for different driving conditions and a manual mode that lets you customize to your liking. This is called SI-DRIVE (Subaru Intelligent-Drive). This exclusive vehicle also comes with an optional in dash navigation system and a media hub that has USB capability. The 2010 Subaru Impreza WRX STI includes black Alcantara racing seats that are leather and suede and available BBS wheels in either gold or silver depending on the exterior paint.
