Durango Mountain Resort is located 25 miles North of Durango on Highway 550 at Purgatory Ski Resort. Durango Mountain Resort offers many summer activities for the whole family including an alpine slide, miniature golf, a climbing wall, a chairlift up the mountains with a bike uplift, mountain bike trails, and a brand new outdoor projection screen.

Durango Mountain Resort is located near many popular activities. There's whitewater rafting, Mesa Verde National Park, and the Durango-Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad. Hiking and mountain biking is at your doorstep at Durango Mountain Resort.

This summer Durango Mountain Resort has scheduled some exciting events for all family members. From "Music in the Mountains" to their new outdoor projection screen for nighttime viewing, you'll find something to do for everyone.

Music in the Mountains - Sunday, August 1st
Greg Hustis from the Dallas Symphony will be playing his horn at this "Night of the Opera". This event is offered only by Durango Mountain Resort and Hustis is a popular participant of this event.

Movie Night - Thursday, August 5, 12, 19,
These events will be focused on a family film night on the new Durango Mountain Resort outdoor projection screen. On August 19 this family film night will be held at the Club Pool and Waterslide where families can view a movie while enjoying the Waterslide and the Club Pool at Durango Mountain Resort.

Mushroom & Wine Festival, August 13-14
A very popular festival offered by Durango Mountain Resort includes two days of meals, wine tastings, and demonstrations that will entice your palette and increase your mushroom knowledge. A six-course mushroom-themed dinner complete with wine pairings will be offered at the Durango Mountain Club on the 13th. You'll need to make reservations for this dinner as there is only one seating at 6:30 pm. This is an all-inclusive dinner celebrating the edible wild mushrooms grown in the mountains. On the 14th, a mushroom hike will be offered for $30 near the Durango Mountain Resort where you'll hike the mountains and learn how to identify edible mushrooms by a trained expert. A box lunch and transportation to the trail head is included. To reserve a hiking spot, please call 970 385-2121.

Family Fun Fest - Saturday, August 14
This is a day of family fun for all ages at Durango Mountain Resort. From 11 am - 3 pm you and your family can enjoy several free events such as face painting, magic shows, balloon animals, games, and other outdoor activities. There'll be lots of events throughout the day including some that have fees such as the bungee trampoline. This festival is what family memories are made of, so be sure to join in the fun!

Climb to Conquer Cancer, Saturday, August 14
This hiking event At Durango Mountain Resort has grown over the years and is expected to be even bigger than last year. Locals and participants from nearby states come to this event to show their support for cancer patients and those that have been lost to cancer. It's a one day event and there are several different hikes up the mountain with varying degrees of difficulty. There's a stroller-friendly hike and yes, you can bring Fido along for this popular event. Everyone is welcome including leashed Fido to help benefit the American Cancer Society. Hot Rod & Custom Bike Show - Saturday, September 4
Car lovers and bike enthusiasts will love this one! A day of live music, custom bikes, cars, and more cars. Trophies and prizes will be awarded in different categories and you'll get to cast your vote for the People's Choice award. Durango Mountain Resort is offering discounted lodging packages for this event and you can get more information by calling 1-800-525-0892.

Photographer's Workshops - September 25 & 26
Trying to capture the beauty and lighting of the mountains is not an easy task. If you'd like to improve your photography skills then this event is for you. Professional photographers will be on hand to offer tips on lighting, angles, and other helpful information on photography. Details are still being worked out and this will be the last event of summer operations at Durango Mountain Resort.
