2010 Toyota Recall Expected for 270,000 Bad Engines

A new July 2010 Toyota recall may be underway, this time for faulty engines. Toyota Motor Corp. announced Thursday that engines in up to 270,000 of their vehicles may stall while the vehicle is in motion, causing potentially devastating consequences. The July 2010 Toyota recall relating to the bad engines hasn't yet been announced, but Toyota spokesperson Hideaki Homma told the Huffington Post that the auto manufacturer is working on coming up with solutions to the faulty engines. Homma wouldn't confirm or deny the idea of a new Toyota recall.

Toyota recall, Toyota recall, how far can a car-maker fall?

Toyota has long been considered a staple of the auto industry, with engines that live forever and a sense of affordable luxury. In the past year, however, Toyota has announced several recalls amounting to over 8 million vehicles. For many of the Toyota recalls issued thus far, major safety concerns have been cited as the basis.

Remember the sticky gas pedals and sudden acceleration? Reports of deaths and injuries? Floor mats that can impede a driver's control of the car? Toyota sure does, and they likely will for quite sometime. They'll remember $16.4 million worth: the amount Toyota was fined by the U.S. government for the auto-maker's initially slow response to fixing faulty vehicle components and explaining how the faulty vehicles made it to market in the first place.

The new July 2010 Toyota recall may be announced in the coming days, informing the public of faulty engines that may stall out unexpectedly. The possible Toyota recall will reportedly include up to 270,000 vehicles with bad engines, and several Lexus models are also reportedly affected. Stay tuned...
