2010 Wedding Songs for a First Dance

Jody Morse
Choosing the right wedding song can be somewhat challenging. Many couples want to use a song that is very unique so that they do not share the same first dance song with their guests. If you are trying to find a unique wedding song, you may want to consider choosing a very current song. Here are some 2010 wedding songs to take into consideration.

"All For You" by Keith Urban

If you are looking for a 2010 country wedding song, this can be a perfect choice. The song, which is from Keith Urban's album Get Closer, is one of his most beautiful songs of all time. It is about how that special person is your reason for being. Keith Urban sings, "I can't remember feeling love like this in so long/ I can't imagine living life without you by my side."

"Weightless" by Lee DeWyze

2010 American Idol winner Lee DeWyze's new album is filled with beautiful love songs. "Weightless" can be an ideal wedding song for a first dance. It is about the feeling that you have when you're in love. Lee DeWyze sings, "My feet can barely touch the ground/ Floating up so high, I'm never coming down/ So take my hand, it's only you and me/ Together we will be weightless." If you are looking for a 2010 modern rock wedding song, this can be a good option.

"Hold My Hand" by Akon featuring Michael Jackson

If you were a fan of Michael Jackson, this song may be a good option for your first dance. This Michael Jackson wedding song is on the singer's last album, which is being released after his death. Anyone who is considering a 2010 R&B wedding song may want to give this one a listen. "Hold My Hand" is about how things will only get better if that special person is there to hold your hand. While the song has a slightly upbeat melody, it can be an ideal option for a current wedding song.

"Hey, Soul Sister" by Train

Anyone who is considering one of the biggest hits of 2009 and 2010 may want to think about using this song for their first dance. While the song is fairly upbeat, it is clearly a love song and is actually becoming a somewhat more popular wedding song. Train sings, "I knew when we collided/ You're the one I have decided who's one of my kind."

There are many beautiful and current wedding songs out there to choose from. You do not necessarily need to choose a classic love song for your first wedding dance if this is not really your style. A more current first dance song can help ensure that you have a unique song which is all your own before the song becomes popular and your guests have already heard it at previous weddings. i work for the banquet dept at a hilton, and twice now couples have used Lady Antebellum's "Need You Now." a beautiful song to be sure, though the lyrics set an ominous tone for newlyweds.
