2010 Will Mark Child's Play's 22nd Anniversary

Chucky Returns for Sixth Sequel

This year marks the 21st anniversary of the Child's Play franchise. For those of who have never heard of the Child's Play series, look up "Chucky doll" on www.Google.com. So far there have been five films in this franchise and all but one seems to have some sort of comedy in them. The first installation of Child's Play is made up of pure horror since Chucky seems to have a more hostile and angrier persona. Lately, there have been strong talks among officials that the next sequel will be based on the first movie and possibly being a remake at that. However, it is very likely Brad Dourif will reprise his role once again as the voice Chucky.

According to www.imdb.com, Child's Play 6 will likely return to its horror roots and that would only mean the exclusion of both his wife Tiffany and their son Glen. This is great news to hear since the Chucky series have indeed become a little repetitive even though the next one will be a possible remake of the first. I also hope that the puppetry will become more advance thus making good ole Chucky even scarier. Many claim that Chucky's facial design from the third film was the best since he had a very menacing look compared previous to films. Since most horror movies today contain CGI effects on their characters, the chances of Chucky doing the same are pretty high. That in my opinion is not a good idea because it kind of kills the whole feeling of a killer doll movie. Sure, that sounds a bit ridiculous, but when you have seen horror movies that use CGI on its main antagonists, you'll know what I mean. Take horror movies from that past ten years for example, they have basically stank with the exception of several of the Saw films and Quarantine (which I believe is massively underrated).

All in all, the idea of a Chucky movie being remade into a darker and more frightening story sits very well for me. The great news of all of this is that Don Mancini will also be reprising his roles as both the director and writer of the film. Information regarding the new Child's Play movie was collected at www.slashfilm.com.
