The 2010 Women's College World Series schedule is now out but it is just the preliminary schedule, as the teams that qualify still need to be seeded. However, the dates have been set for all of the games that will take place at the 2010 Women's College World Series. The first day of competition will be on Thursday, June 3rd, where all eight teams that make it into the 2010 Women's College World Series will play their first game in Oklahoma City. It will be a quadruple-header that takes place on ESPN, so for all of the softball fans out there, it is going to be an extremely exciting day of games.

The 2010 Women's College World Series bracket is built on a double-elimination format, meaning that a team has to lose two games before they are eliminated from the 2010 Softball Championships. That makes it fairer for teams that end up getting a bad draw in the seeding of the first day of games. It also allows a team to come back if they have some tough breaks during Game 1. Game 1 of the 2010 Women's College World Series will begin at 10 a.m. PST (1 p.m. EST) on June 3rd, with Game 2 starting at 12 p.m. PST, Game 3 starting at 4 p.m. PST and Game 4 starting at 6 p.m. PST. The tournament is split into two different brackets as well, with the winners of each bracket playing in a best-of-three championship series that begins on the night of Monday, June 7th.

With so many good teams already qualifying, it's tough to predict which one of these teams will take home the title this year. The University of Washington Huskies are the defending national champions, making them one of the favorites as the No. 3 overall seed in the 2010 tournament. There are several SEC and Pac-10 teams that might have something to say about that though, and they will definitely get their chance to prove that they are better than UW. There is a quick format in place for the first 14 games of the 2010 Women's College World Series, all building up to the championship series on June 7th. All games will also be covered on ESPN, so if you want to see some of the best softball played this year, make sure to tune in on Thursday, June 3rd when the first games of the 2010 Women's College World Series begin.
