Brazil :
The Brazil national football team is the most successful national football team in the history of the World Cup, with five championships (1958, 1962, 1970, 1994, 2002). A common quip about football is: "The English invented it, the Brazilians perfected it."
The Olympic football tournament is the only international competition in football organized by FIFA that Brazil has never won, although they have won two silver medals (1984 and 1988) and two bronze medals (1996, 2008).
At the 2006 FIFA World Cup, Brazil participated for the 18th time in the event. The country remained as the only national team to have participated in every installment of the FIFA World Cup.
Brazil was eliminated in the quarterfinals against France by a score of 1-0 in 2006 World Cup. After elimination, the team was largely criticized by the press and the fans.
After a 3-1 victory over Argentina in Rosario, on September 5, 2009, Brazil qualified for the 2010 FIFA World Cup.
The Brazilian team won the 2009 FIFA Confederations Cup in South Africa. Brazil is feeling confident and ready to win the championship in the 2010 FIFA World Cup. They have a very strong team to achieve the goal, like Kaka, Robhino and Fabiano. Kaka was named as the player of the tournament and Luis Fabiano won the top goalscorer award with five goals in five matches. After a nightmare spell in England with Manchester City, Robinho looks reborn since his loan move to Santos, and i believe the winger's return home will prove a significant boost to his squad.
Furthermore, Brazil thumped World Cup holders Italy 3-0 in their final Confederations Cup group game in Pretoria.
Although Brazil had showed the good side of its game in 2-0 friendly win over the Republic of Ireland at Arsenal's Emirates Stadium but there is room for improvement in South Africa later this year.
France
France's triumphant years began during the late 1990s because of the generation of Zinédine Zidane. This team started off well by reaching the semi-finals of UEFA Euro 1996. After the competition, coach Aimé Jacquet adopted a very defensive strategy, which was often criticized by supporters. The press even claiming that the team had no hope in winning the upcoming 1998 FIFA World Cup, which would be hosted in their home country. However, despite the constant criticism, Jacquet led the team to World Cup glory defeating Brazil 3-0 in the final, which was played at the Stade de France.
France struggled in the qualifiers for the 2006 FIFA World Cup. This prompted Domenech to persuade "golden generation" members Claude Makélélé, Lilian Thuram, and Zinedine Zidane out of international retirement to help the national team qualify.
France's campaign for 2010 qualification got off to a disappointing start with a 3-1 defeat at the hands of Austria in Vienna and speculation followed regarding the future of Domenech.
France, the Europe's brightest hopes to lift the World Cup on July 11 in South Africa suffered mixed fortunes in friendly internationals match.
European champions Spain produced an assured display to beat 2006 finalists France 2-0 -- their first win in France for 42 years -- and provoked the home fans into regular bouts of calling for unpopular coach Raymond Domenech to resign.
Italy
In the 2006 FIFA World Cup, the tournament was won by Italy, who claimed their fourth World Cup title (1934, 1938, 1982, 2006), just one fewer than Brazil. They defeated France 5-3 in a penalty shootout in the final, after extra time had finished in a 1-1 draw. Germany defeated Portugal 3-1 to finish third.
The 2006 World Cup stands as one of the most watched events in television history, garnering an estimated 26.29 billion non-unique viewers.
With a very bad showing at Confederations Cup 2009, Italy has faced challenges in the upcoming WORLD CUP tournament. Although they won the 2006 World Cup, the stars of that tournament such as Cannavaro, Zambrotta, and Gattuso are past their prime.
In the international friendly match with Cameroon, the performance of defending World Cup champions Italy was disappointed. Although the team continues to have a deep and talented roster but It ended up being a scoreless as draw between the two teams. Most of the play was dominated by the Italians including having 12 shots and 5 on goal but failing to score. Cameroon had some chances and more possession but couldn't manage even one shot on goal.
Italy crashed out of the Confederations Cup after only edging the United States for a hard win, losing at the hands of Egypt and being humiliated by three goals to nothing against a much-better Brazilian team.
The greatly-impaired journey of the Italians is a signal of the end of an era.
However, Italy, the reigning champions, still has the experience and quality to threaten at World Cup 2010 in South Africa under Marcello Lippi.
Argentina
Argentina is one of the seven countries to have won the football World Cup ( 1978 and 1986). Argentina also won six of the fourteen football competitions at the Pan American Games, winning in 1951, 1955, 1959, 1971, 1995 and 2003.
In Women's football there has been a national women's league in Argentine since 1991. Argentina women's team qualified for the FIFA Women's World Cup for the first time in 2007.
In 2006 World Cup quarter final match, Germany and Argentina played an entertaining, yet somewhat cautious match, which ended 1-1 after extra time; the hosts edged out the Argentinians 4-2 on penalties to go through to the semifinals.
On 16 October 2008, following the controversy over the historic defeat against Chile in the qualifiers, manager Alfio Basile tended his resignation, paving the way for Maradona, the country's greatest player, to take the lead. Maradona won the Golden Ball award as the tournament's best player, a tournament in which he will also be remembered for the infamous "Hand of God", when he palmed the ball past England goalkeeper Peter Shilton in the quarter-finals.
Lionel Messi is considered to be one of the finest players of his generation, Messi has seen his playing style and ability compare to his head coach Diego Maradona. Besides, Diego Milito, Gonzalo Higuain, Angel Di Maria, Carlos Tevez and, of course, the best player for the team too.
In the recent international friendly match between Germany and Argentina, the tram had performing excellent. Argentina defeated Germany 1-0.
Conclusion: Confederation Cup has become a test for the team readiness before the World Cup. It was hard for me make a final conclusion. However, I predict the potential of 2010 World Cup champion will be Brazil.

Post a CommentYou guys suck. Why doesn't anyone think Germany is going to win. They have all the elite players that a team should have like Ballack, Podolski, and Swesteinger. Sure Brazil and France are reasonable for winning Fifa but come on, Germany can beat them. Germany all the way!
