The old adage of why there is no cat in the twelve animals of Chinese astrology is as follows. The following from the Honolulu Chinatown official web site shows the many days of celebration over weeks according to the 2010 Chinese New Year Calendar of Events. In the book, "American Chinatown", the author Bonnie Tsui rates Honolulu's Chinatown as "the most progressive and multicultural Chinatown" ^[2] in the United States. Columnist Lee Cataluna wrote, "Chinatown is not a manicured, controlled master-planned community. It has all the noise, smells and energy of an open market." ^[3]
