Starting at 8 pm, enjoy the sensational music of one of the best DJs in town. Listen to music that will literally move your soul. At 10 pm, enjoy music from the hip hop/jazz, soul group, The Beast. This high-energy quartet consists of pianist, Eric Hirsh; bassist Pet Kimosh; and drummer Stephen Coffman. At one time, this trio also played with Pierce Freelon, son of Grammy nominated jazz vocalist, Nnenna Freelon.

From 12 midnight, enjoy the sounds of Hammer No More The Fingers. Haling from the Durham/Chapel Hill area, this trio started out in 1994 as 10-year-olds with their own original music. Writing catchy, edgy rock music for you and yours to groove to.

From 1:30 pm to close, enjoy even more of the sensational music of one of the best DJs in town.

The cover charge for this amazing event is $8. A full dinner menu with food/drink specials is also available.

Created in the summer of 1990 by Artsplosure's Board of Directors, First Night Raleigh is a special community New Year's Eve celebration in downtown Raleigh, NC. This annual event is the largest New Year's Eve event, held in eastern North Carolina. Recent First Night celebrations have exceeded all expectations with attendance regularly over 40,000 people. The city's Millennium Celebration culminated with First Night Raleigh 2000, and attracted 75,000 people from all over the state.

Admission buttons cost $9 in advance and go on sale, effective December 1 at Greater Raleigh area retailers such as Harris Teeter, Rite Aid, and more. To purchase buttons on site on December 31, the price is $12 for adults and $10 for children, ages 6-12. Children 5 and under are admitted free when accompanied by a button-wearing adult.

Annuals are a six-piece indie-rock band from Raleigh, NC. Formed in 2003 and with album releases such as Such Fun, this group consists of Adam Baker, vocals/guitar; Kenny Florence, guitar/lap steel; Anna Spence, keyboards/vocals; Mike Robinson, bass; Zack Oden, guitar/drums; and Nick Radford, drums. This group appeared as #25 in Pitchfork Media's "Infinited Mixtape" series and even made their national television debut on Late Night with Conan O'Brien as well as live appearances on Spin.com.

Bob Margolin Unplugged

Renowned North Carolina blues artist, Bob Margolin, played with blues legend, Muddy Waters, from 1973 to 1980. Starting his first band in 1980, he chose to perform solo in 1989 and released several albums such as In North Carolina. In 2005, he was awarded the Blues Music Award for "Best Instrumentalist Guitar." Also, a columnist for Blues Revue magazine and a contributor to Blues Wax, on online magazine, Margolin continues to tour and perform fulltime. Smile Raleigh: Picture Puzzle Installation

This show is presented by Boston artist, Bren Bataclan. Bataclan will construct a picture puzzle from his own paintings and from paintings by local art students. Paintings are part of the "free art" movement. Since 2003, Bataclan has left his paintings across the United States and in more than 30 countries. This artist has been featured on CBS Evening News with Katie Couric and in publications such as Reader's Digest, Smithsonian Magazine, and The Chicago Tribune.
