2010 New Year's Eve Parties in Boston

If you are looking for a fun and festive atmosphere on New Year's Eve Boston is one of the best places to be when you ring in the new year. From nightclub parties, informal and formal concerts or family friendly activities and firework displays Boston, Massachusetts has it all. With its rich history all over the city and energized nightlife there is sure to be something for singles, couples and families to enjoy when you usher in 2010 and the new decade. First Night Boston -

Enjoy one of the biggest parties in the city on New Year's Eve with First Night Boston. First Night is a day long Festival celebrating art and community in throughout Boston and is a family friendly event. The events start at 1PM with the FedEx Family Festival at the Hynes Convention Center that runs until 5PM. After, you are invited to come outside to check out the Metro Boston Grand Procession as it makes its way down Boylston Street to Boston Common. At 7PM the Boston Family Fireworks will be kicked off by Mayor Thomas Menino and The Mugar Foundation.

You will also enjoy an evening of dancing, comedy, spoken word, theater and almost every type of music available. To get in on the fun all you need to do is purchase a First Night 2010 button for $18 the day of or $15 online through their website. You can also avoid the traffic by using the T Subway system which is close to the events.

Brew Year's Eve FestivALE -

If you are looking to avoid the large crowds in Boston Common and lines for beer at area bars try the annual Brew Year's Eve FestivALE on Cambridge Common. You will have access to over a dozen domestic, imports and local brews, think IPAs, Allagash Hugh Malone, Green Flash Le Freak, Southern Tier Unearthly and so many more available for New Year's. Spicy snacks will also be included throughout the night. The party starts at 5PM and goes to 2AM on January 1st and beer costs start st $3.95 - $7.95 per beer.

Thunderdome MMX -

Thunderdome promises they won't be just another boring New Year's Eve party with a champaign toast at midnight. This event is classy, with a twist. You're welcome to dress semi formal, but if you're wearing a suit or party dresses you will get a break on admission. Dance at the Villa Victoria all night to the sounds of DJ's Mistaker, Redfoxx and David Day. Robotkid and Matt Boch will bring the visuals and Chicago's Gatekeeper will also be performing live. There will also be a photo booth for you and your friends to take pictures in and three countdowns at midnight, 1AM and 2AM for other time zones. There will also be a Pabst Blue Ribbon (PBR) toast at midnight.

Game On! New Year's Balloon Prize Drop -

Game On! promises an exciting New Year's Eve you will never forget full of dancing, drinking and prizes. When the ball drops at midnight you better be in position when over 200 balloons drop from the ceiling that contain tickets for Bruins, Celtics and other sporting games, gift certificates, free drinks at the bar and more. The party starts at 8PM and goes to 2AM with DJ Wayne Partello spinning mash-ups and top 40 hits all night. Your ticket also includes free appetizers and a midnight champagne toast.
