First Night in Alexandria -

First Night Alexandria returns for their annual New Year's Eve celebration. The family oriented, alcohol-free New Year's will be happening at dozens of venues throughout historic Old Town Alexandria. This new year's 40 indoor venues will host 60 bands of different genres of music including The Stairwells; Bill Kirchen; La Firma; Mike Rose the Magician; Teddy the Clown; and many more for adults and children to enjoy. Activities for children start at 5PM with all other entertainment starting between 6PM and 7PM.

Free DASH shuttles and the King Street Trolley will be available all night to transport visitors to activities along King Street. A huge fireworks show will welcome in 2010 and the new decade at the stroke of midnight at the George Washington Masonic Memorial.

Cost: $12 per person if purchased online before December 26th. $17 December 27th - 28th, $20 December 29th - 31st (available at retail locations only) Children under age 12 can attend for free.

Professionals in the City Passport to the World -

Not limited just to professionals in the City this is a fun annual New Year's party that changes its theme every year. This year is Passport to the World with different locations around the world in 9 different rooms in the Hilton Washington at Dupont Circle. The party starts with International Panorama where photographers will be taking pictures of all the people singing and dancing through the night. You will continue through all the different cities and countries represented and end it all in Latin Fusion where you will celebrate the music and culture of Rio De Janeiro, Bogota and San Juan.

The cost of tickets for this event start at $99 and your ticket gives you hours of fun on top of a fully loaded open bar, full buffet, champagne, balloon drop at midnight and much, much more.

FUR Nightclub -

If the nightclub scene is what you're looking for this New Year's Eve FUR is one of the best places in the city to be when the ball drops at Midnight. The club has different packages available starting at $25 up to $125 for the full bar and New Year's VIP package. Come and spend the night with other locals to the sound of high paced electronic and dance music.
