#10. Stanley Robinson, SF/PF, Orlando Magic
Although he was the second to last pick of the 2010 NBA Draft, Robinson will make the team, and is a perfect off the bench replacement for the less physical Rashard Lewis. Robinson will put up productive numbers off the bench in his rookie year even on this very talented team. He should get some minutes if he steps up early in the season. Don't draft Robinson, but keep your eye on him during the first two months to see how he fits in and his role off the bench.
#9. Quincy Pondexter, F, New Orleans Hornets
Pondexter was a beast at Washington University, putting up over 19 points a game. Pondexter now has a great chance to grow and get playing time on a solid team, as long as Chris Paul stays put. He should be able to get immediate playing time while Peja is on the bench. This forward is another one to watch early in the season and keep your eye on the Chris Paul situation.
#8. Greg Monroe, C, Detroit Pistons
Monroe is currently recovering from toe surgery, but had a great summer league performance and is a great fantasy prospect due to his passing abilities. Monroe should turn into an quality center and will get decent minutes this year when Ben Wallace is on the bench. If Monroe is starting by the second month of the season, get him on your fantasy team quick. He should not go in your fantasy draft, but keep an eye on him and his performance to see if he is worth picking up off of the waiver wire.
#7. Derrick Favors, PF, New Jersey Nets
Potential means nothing if it never blossoms into talent. Favors, like many of the rookies on this list had a very good summer league, but he is still only 19, and plays for the Nets. Favors will most likely be selected in your fantasy draft, and is a great prospect, but be careful in overrating his potential for what he will accomplish in his rookie year.
#6. James Anderson, SG, San Antonio Spurs
The 6'6 Anderson was a standout at Oklahoma State and led the Big 12 Conference with over 22 points per game. Anderson should be able to come off the bench to replace Manu and Bonner, as he might get time at the 2 and 3 position. Like most Spurs rookies, expect Anderson to get weened onto the court over the first quarter of the season until an injury or he starts getting hot, then it's time to put him on your roster.
#5. Wesley Johnson, SF Minnesota Timberwolves
Johnson will create problems for opposing teams with his length and ability to rebound. Wesley will give up several turnovers a game, but his abilities on defense with blocks and steals should make up for it. Johnson will never be a scoring threat like Kevin Durant, but if his ball handling skills improve he is athletic enough to play shooting guard or power forward as well as his natural position at small forward. Johnson is worth drafting with one of your last picks.
#4. Al-Farouq Aminu, SF, Los Angeles Clippers
Aminu should find himself as the starting small forward for the Clippers come October. The Clippers are building a solid starting five as long as Blake Griffin can stay healthy and live up to his previous expectations. Aminu always finds a way to the basket and can fill in at power forward if he gains a little muscle. Expect Aminu to put up solid rookie numbers right away.
#3. Evan Turner, SF, Philadelphia 76ers
I am an Evan Turner fan, but his NBA performance so far, although preseason, has been nothing but terrible. Turner's inability to perform has made NBA headlines for the last couple of months and even Turner himself has commented on his performance; "It's not what I expected of myself. I'm not proud of the way I've played. But I'm glad for the experience." Turner is still one of the more complete players out of this draft class, but expect a slow start and for his stats to increase over time. Draft Turner mid-late, but don't reach up too high.
#2. Jordan Crawford, SG, Atlanta Hawks
With the 27th pick in the 2010 NBA Draft, the Atlanta Hawks select a scoring machine and exciting to watch Jordan Crawford. The great thing about fantasy basketball is that defense doesn't count, or in most cases not very much for a shooting guard. Crawford will put up points right away for your fantasy team, just don't expect many assists or rebounds as that part of his game is still developing. Being behind Joe Johnson will not do him any favors, but he will get in the rotation right away.
#1. John Wall, PG, Washington Wizards
Talent rules in predicting what rookie from the 2010 class will have the biggest impact on the next season in terms of fantasy. If Wall and Arenas can share the rock, this will be a good fantasy season for the both of them. Wall should put up 18 ppg, 5 rebounds, 7 assists, and two steals a night. Wall will be overrated come your fantasy draft, but his stats will be among the top for point guards and he will be rookie of the year.

Post a CommentStrangely, two PF/C's, Ed Davis & Larry Sanders, are conspicuously off this list. Both of them were very solid during the summer league session and are potential starters (or p/t starters).
Ed Davis has 1 player to beat in Toronto to fill Chris Bosh's vacated minutes - one of the final high school-to-pros prospects Amir Johnson. In any case, he's likely part of a 3-man big man rotation in Toronto.
Larry Sanders also excelled in the summer league, and with Bogut's uncertain return from his elbow/wrist injuries from his spectacular fall, more minutes have likely opened up. Yes, the Bucks also signed Drew Gooden - but when was the last time Drew Gooden held on to a job for any period of time? I can see Gooden getting pushed to the bench to give the team better "balance"... or traded to a contender to give the young players a chance to develop.
And as Bobb Gunn pointed out - Demarcus Cousins could be a big deal in Sacto - potentially becoming the immediate starter at center.
Where the hell is Demarcus Cousins at? Your list is a joke as it stands, w/o Cousins at number 2 you look like a clown. Will look forward to seeing your retort...
