Many people are switching to "green" vehicles. Green vehicles are cars that are less harmful to the environment. They don't use regular unleaded gas like a normal car would and you can also save on energy costs by getting more miles to the gallon. If you plan to switch to a more green car, here are the new 2010 models that you should consider.

If you would rather have a luxury car, then Lexus has the answer for you with the new 2010 Lexus HS 250h. Lexus is said to release this car in the late summer of 2009. The HS 250h is said to have the best combined fuel economy of any luxury car in the U.S. It comes equipped with a 2.4 liter Atkinson cycle engine making it the first ever 4 cylinder Lexus. This is one sexy car. And considering that most luxury car buyers say they would buy a hybrid if their were more available, Lexus had a great idea when they planned this one.

The 2010 Mercury Milan Hybrid is also a great addition to hybrid vehicles in 2010. This car gets great fuel mileage beating the hybrid Toyota Camry by 6mpg in the city. It also comes equipped with SmartGauge with EcoGuide, that coaches you on how to get better gas mileage. Amazingly, the city driving range on a tank of gas is said to be more than 700 miles. This car has a sleek, sophisticated look, and would be my first pick in choosing a hybrid.

The 2010 Toyota Prius was a big hit in Japan, so maybe it will be for the U.S. as well. During it's release, the Toyota Prius had more than 80,000 sold in it's first day in Japan. The Prius is said to get around 50 mpg on the highway. Starting at around $22,000 the Prius comes equipped with Hybrid Synergy Drive, that combines gasoline and electric propulsion that allows the vehicle to operate at it's most efficient energy level. Toyota also offers the push start button on the Prius as well.

If you'd like something thats "Built Tough", then you should check out the new 2010 Ford Fusion. The Ford Fusion gets around 34 mpg in highway miles. The Fusion is said to be the most fuel efficient mid-size sedan in the U.S. getting 700 miles off one tank of gas. The Fusion comes standard equipped starting at around $19,000. If you like Ford products, you're definitely going to like the Hybrid Fusion.

Dodge is said to be bringing the Ram 1500 to the hybrid collection in 2010. The Ram 1500 Hybrid will offer an overall fuel economy improvement of 25 percent. Equipped with a HEMI V-8, the engine will be able to shut off when the vehicle stops or decelerates, to conserve fuel and then restart when power is necessary. The release date hasn't been said yet, but keep your eyes open for the new hybrid that Dodge is bringing into town.
