What else isn't fair is the obscene sticker price being charged by BMW, Audi and Mercedes for their Euro-styled wagons. So what can an SUV-protestor from the good old U.S of A do if he or she wants a sexy wagon with plenty of space? Well, you really should check out the upcoming 2011 Acura TSX Sport Wagon that is going to be unveiled to the public on March 31st at the New York Auto Show.
Will this be the luxury wagon revolution all car lovers have been waiting for? Quite possibly. For far too long people have gotten by on the notion that they "need" their SUV or that wagons didn't come with all the luxury features they wanted. The TSX Sport Wagon promises to be spacious, elegantly styled and a pure blast to drive if it is anything like the TSX V6 sports sedan.
It is rumored that Acura plans to release the TSX with both the 201 horsepower 2.4 liter 4-cylinder engine and the 280 horsepower V6 at the same time but only with an automatic transmission. No word yet on if this transmission will be the current five speed or the new six-speed that was installed in the MDX this year.
While the TSX Sport Wagon is meant to be a luxurious vehicle what with its standard supple leather, Bluetooth, dual zone climate control and premium audio one must not forget the most important feature is how well it hauls cargo. While Acura has yet to release solid cargo volume figures it will be approximately the same size as the voluminous cargo hold of the Accord Crosstour.
So if you are in the market for a new luxury crossover or SUV why not wait until fall of 2010 (the TSX Sport Wagon's expected on sale date) and think a little outside of the box. Aren't you tired of losing your Lexus RX350 in the Macy's parking lot? Thank goodness for panic alarms on your key fob or you'd never find the darn thing.
There was a time when a station wagon used to get lost out in parking lots but that was back when they were nowhere near as stylishly executed. The 2011 Acura TSX Sport Wagon is part of this new "smart downsizing revolution" in this country so hop on board before this band "wagon" passes you by.
