Beaver Creek Ski Resort in Colorado has wonderful events for the 2011 season. This great family resort offers different activities throughout the season for all ages.

The village at Beaver Creek Ski Resort will entice you into its shops for hot chocolate. There is an ice skating rink in the center of the village and the architecture of the buildings is Bavarian style. It's a very relaxing ski resort to bring your family or that special someone.

There are 25 lifts at Beaver Creek Ski Resort and 149 trails. You'll find terrain from beginners to extreme so there's something for everyone. Cross country and snowshoe trails are also available at the groomed McCoy Park. McCoy Park offers views of three mountain ranges as it sits atop a mountain iteself.

Lots of snow has been falling at Beaver Creek Ski Resort and this year is looking to be one of the best. There's lots of activities for everyone, so plan a trip and come join the fun!

February 2: An Evening with Marvin Hamlisch. Beaver Creek Ski Resort presents an evening of music with Marvin Hamlisch composer and conducter at the Vilar Performing Arts Center. Hamlisch has received many awards over the years and he's composed more than forty scores for motion pictures including "The Way We Were" and "The Sting". The performance will begin at 7:30 pm. February 4: James Hunter. Hunter has been touring with Van Morrison and is a great R&B singer. He will be performing at the Vilar Performing Arts Center at 7:30 pm at Beaver Creek Ski Resort. For tickets, please call 1-888 920-2787 or go online to www.vilarpac.org.

February 6: Beaver Creek's Snowshoe Series. A popular series that has three races throught the ski season at Beaver Creek Ski Resort. This first race will feature a 5K race for beginners and walkers and a 10K race with a prize purse. Both races begin at 11 am and there will be the usual parties and prizes after the races.

February 9: A Far Cry Performs at Beaver Creek Ski Resort. This musical group hails from Boston and will be playing classical music including Mozart's Piano Concert No. 11 in F major, K. 413 featuring pianist Joel Fan. A Far Cry donates proceeds to homeless shelters in the Boston area as well as the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society and other nonprofit organizations. There will be two performances one at 12 Noon and the second beginning at 6:30 pm at the Vilar Performing Arts Center.

February 10: Monty Python's Spamalot. A hilariously funny take on King Arthur and the Roundtable as they search for the Holy Grail. Expect anything and everything from this musical including flying cows and killer rabbits. Winner of the 2005 Tony Award for Best Musical, this one show only at Beaver Creek Ski Resort will be at the Vilar Performing Arts Center beginning at 7:30 pm. February 13: The Punch Brothers Featuring Chris Thile. The cutting-edge sound of this group blends bluegrass, jazz, and classical music together. This innovative music will delight music lovers of different genres. The show begins at 7:30 pm at the Vilar Performing Arts Center. February 15: Puccin's Turnadot presented by Teatro Lirico D'Europa. Returning to the stage in Beaver Creek this opera performance is in time for Valentine's Day celebrating the power of love. February 16: Great Moments in Opera by Teatro Lirico D'Europa. International soloist Teatro Lirico D'Europa will be performing duets, arias, and ensembles with a full orchestra. February 18: Maceo Parker. Saxophonist Maceo Parker comes to Beaver Creek Ski Resort to perform his wonderful funky sounds. February 24: Leftover Salmon. No, this isn't a barbecue at Beaver Creek Ski Resort! Leftover Salmon hails from Boulder, Colorado and their mixed sounds of Caribbean, Latin, jazz, boogie, Southern rock, Cajun, and funk will have you dancing in your seat! A very popular music group at Beaver Creek Ski Resort, they will be performing at the Vilar Performing Arts Center at 7:30 pm. February 25: The 5 Browns. Waking up musical audiences to classical music, The 5 Browns bring fresh energy to classical music. March 2: Medeski Martin & Wood. Come join the "jazz spirit" as these musicians like to refer to their music. You'll hear danceable beats as well as genre-defying compositions. March 5 & 6: Prevention on the Slopes at Beaver Creek Ski Resort. All weekend long you can enjoy mini spa treatments, hot beverages, and free cereal on Saturday and Sunday mornings. Take a break and get a mini facial and hand massage at the spa tent located on Slopeside. The event is from 8am-4 pm both days.

March 5: Prevention Snowshoe Clinics. Two guided tours will be offered by Prevention at Beaver Creek Ski Resort. Learn the great health benefits of snowhoeing while taking in Beaver Creek's breathtaking beauty. The tours begin at 10 am and 1 pm and last just over an hour. The tour location is at McCoy Park and you can sign up for either tour at Prevention's slopeside tent or at the Beaver Creek Nordic Center.

March 5: Chinese Golden Dragon Acrobats. Beaver Creek Ski Resort proudly presents this exciting show and dazzling show for all ages. Dazzling costumes, ancient and contemporary artistry from this group will leave you in awe. There will be two shows at 4:30 pm and 8 pm at the Vilar Performing Arts Center. March 6: Prevention Plunge at Beaver Creek Ski Resort. A 50 yd. all out sprint downhill race. The top male and female winners will win a sports apparel package from Prevention. Race begins at 11 am. Visit the Prevention slopeside tent for more information.

March 15: Joffrey Ballet. Beaver Creek Ski Resort proudly announces a performance by the Joffrey Ballet. March 21: Hansel and Gretel performed by Opera Colorado. Remember the story of Hansel and Gretel? March 22: Classic Albums Live Presents "L.A. Woman", A Tribute to the Doors. This electric show will have you singing and foot tapping to the sounds of the Doors. March 27: Orla Fallon. Beaver Creek Ski Resort proudly announces Orla Fallon a former member of the Celtic Women team. Orla has gone solo and plays her harp as well as sings traditional Irish tunes. March 30: Lewis Black at Beaver Creek Ski Resort. Making fun of the world we live in, Lewis Black will have you laughing uncontrollably. April 16: Vintage Ski Fest at Beaver Creek Ski Resort. Dust off those old skis and join in a vintage ski race. If you don't want to particpate, come watch the event. There will be more details to come for this event.
