When it comes to fantasy football getting a quality wide receiver is a must. The great part about the wide receiver position is that it is stocked with talent. Here are my top picks for wide receivers for the upcoming 2011 fantasy football season.
#1 Calvin Johnson
I know a lot of people don't have him number one on their board, but Johnson is a beast. The Lions were much improved last year and if Mathew Stafford stays healthy look out NFL. Johnson at worst puts up great numbers without Stafford and with Stafford I think he will be the NFL top receiver.
#2 Andre Johnson
There is no hiding this Texans talent and he consistently puts the numbers up to back them. Again you know he will put up great numbers, and there is always the chance he will be the league leader in many receiving categories.
#3 Larry Fitzgerald
Last time Fitzgerald had a good quarterback (Kurt Warner) he came just short of making his team Super Bowl champs and put up great numbers along the way. Now he has Kevin Kolb, who is still a little unproven, but if they develop chemistry the NFC West is theirs, and of course Fitzgerald will put up the Numbers
#4 Reggie Wayne
Talk about Mr. Consistent, just go ahead and pencil this guy down for right around 100 catches. Peyton seems to be healthy so you know this duo will be prime to put up their regular spectacular numbers.
#5 Greg Jennings
How does Super Bowl Champ sound, and Aaron Rogers go to guy? I know a lot of people don't have Jennings in their top five but can you really argue it. Green Bay is still a pass first team with a great quarterback so Jennings will have a fine season.
Those are just my top picks at the wide receiver position, be sure to check out the rest of my wide receiver picks under my wide receiver sleepers and my quality wide receivers. Good luck this year.
