2011 Fantasy Football Top Tight Ends

John Krutz

While a tight end may not necessarily win you your fantasy football league he can certainly help you win. Tight ends are often forgot about until those late round picks, but try jumping on a good one early to solidify that position. Here are my top picks for tight ends for the 2011 fantasy football season.

#1 Antonio Gates
This San Diego Charger has been the staple of that passing game for some time. You want reliable numbers from your tight end and you know Gates will give you that. Go ahead and mark him down for about 50 receptions and 10 touchdowns.

#2 Jason Witten
Witten has been a go to guy for Tony Romo over the years and is a quality tight end. With the wide receivers in Dallas stretching the defense look for Witten to have a big year, he was very close to being my number one.

#3 Dallas Clark
Many people have Dallas Clark a little bit higher on their lists, but he has me concerned this year. Manning is slightly unhealthy and Indianapolis has some good young receivers. Clark as always will get some catches, but I think his productivity may drop a little this year. However, he would be a great late round pick

#4 Kellen Winslow
Winslow had a great season last year in Tampa Bay and helped that team to a great record and I see even better things for that team this year. Tampa has great young talent and Winslow should benefit from all that talent around him.

#5 Brandon Pettigrew
With the Detroit Lions looking like a team that could compete this year look for their tight end to have another great year. He caught over 70 passes last year and if Mathew Stafford stays healthy those numbers could be even better.

Remeber tight ends should not be a first round pick , but getting a good one could make all the difference. Be sure to check out the links to my other fantasy articles and good luck.
