2011 Football Schedule for AFC North Gives Pittsburgh Steelers the Championship

Baltimore Will Be Runner-Up Again

Gary Davis
I'm trying to move through the final games for the AFC North for the 2011 season. Of course we do not have times and dates as of yet and we are having problems with the NFL in general but we shall move on in the face of all that.

The Pittsburgh Steelers were the 2010 champions in the AFC. They got there by beating the Baltimore Ravens by a touchdown. However, they lost to the Green Bay Packers in the Super Bowl who set some records one being the first NFC sixth seed to win such a game. Pittsburgh of course is the most prolific Super Bowl winner with six victories. Will the Steelers bounce back in 2011? Despite the fact they are getting older, so are some other teams, including Baltimore and I don't think their coach will let them get complacent. So, how will they do?

The Pittsburgh Steelers against the AFC North:

The Pittsburgh Steelers like the Baltimore Ravens will do well against the AFC North. They will split with the Browns and the Ravens and sweep the Cincinnati Bengals. This will give them a 4-2 record and set them up for a good start against non-divisional opponents.

The Pittsburgh Steelers in nondivisional play on the road:

The Steelers will visit the Houston Texans, Indianapolis Colts, Kansas City Chiefs, Arizona Cardinals and San Francisco 49ers. It is my belief they will go 3-2 on the road. This compares unfavorably to the Baltimore Ravens' four-win road record for 2011. The Steelers will defeat the Texans, Cardinals and 49ers, but will lose to the Colts and Chiefs.

The Pittsburgh Steelers in nondivisional play at home:

At home Pittsburgh entertains the Jacksonville Jaguars, Tennessee Titans, New England Patriots, Seattle Seahawks and St. Louis Rams. The Pittsburgh Steelers are always tough at home and they have a pretty easy schedule. I think they will beat everyone but the Patriots to go 4-1. Their home-stand gives them the AFC North Crown once again with an overall 11-5 record.

We finish the AFC North with the Pittsburgh Steelers as champs and the Baltimore Ravens a probable wild card.

The Steelers join the Chargers and Colts as champs. We will patiently wait on the AFC East. That division holds some exciting teams including the Patriots, Jets, Dolphins and Bills.
