Pittsburgh Three Rivers Regatta

Enjoy free land, air and water entertainment on the banks of the Allegheny River, lawns of Point State Park and the river walk of the North Shore during the 4^th of July weekend. Watch the North American Powerboat Championships, the building of huge sand castle sculptures, fireworks and pyrotechnics shows, dragon boats, bike stunt shows, music and kids' activities. Everything is free, and it's a lot of fun. This is one of the most fun ways to celebrate the 4^th of July in Pittsburgh with the whole family.

Pittsburgh Zoo & PPG Aquarium

The zoo and aquarium are always fun places to visit, but on the 4^th of July, all Military personnel with ID receive free admission and 20% off all gift shop purchases. Enjoy all types of animals and fish, from those found in the African Savannah to the Tropical Rainforest. There's even a children's zoo, which has been ranked one of the best in the country. Have fun on the 4^th of July by getting outside with the animals at the Pittsburgh Zoo and PPG Aquarium.

Brentwood 4^th of July Parade

Brentwood is a lovely family community just 6 miles south of downtown Pittsburgh. Here, they host the largest 4^th of July parade in the Pittsburgh region during the day, and the festivities conclude with free fireworks that night. The celebration is so popular, it has its own Facebook page, where you can get updates. The parade takes place on Brownsville Road, with lots of shops and restaurants within walking distance to make the day even more fun. Before the main festivities, Brentwood also hosts a firecracker 5K race, which begins at 8am. Join in if you're up for the challenge, or sip coffee on the sidelines and cheer the runners on before the heat of the day hits. This is a great family, full-day celebration for the 4^th of July.
